Time for a new Plasma. Whats good at the mo?

Right, im havinga shuffle.
My current tv in the living room Panny 50" is getting moved to the 2nd living room.
The Panny 42" from the 2nd living room is getting moved to the bedroom.

So i need a Plasma for the main living room.

Budget is £1,000.
I was looking at the PANASONIC VIERA TXP50S10. Looks good on paper but is it as good as or better than my 50PZ80?

Looked at the PANASONIC VIERA TXP50G10 but that looks the same as the S10 except it has freeSat which i dont need.

id look at the pan txp50g10 as its much better than the s10, and should come in at £999 in most places now, it has the better neoPDP pannel which is blacker and runs at 600hz instead of 400hz.

definatly, if you can see the s and g 10 side by side you spot the difference, the s10 is not a bad telly, but comapred to the g10 its quite a grey looking picture.

Would be sooo tempted to get one for £879 with a 5 year warranty but with their new 2010 range coming out fairly soon I might hold out and see how pricing is affected by that.

Unfortunately I doubt one of their newest 50" "Kuro" plasmas would be anywhere near £1k anytime soon

Good call. I might wait then and see if prices drop.
Im not really bothered about the "kuro" panels as im just a regular/casual viewer.

Wait!

New panasonic screens out soon, and going by some reports they seem like Kuro tech laden screens.

So hold you fire!

I've seen the PANASONIC VIERA TXP50S10 going for under £680... seems a good deal!

Apparently the newer models are phosphor lag free - which is my only gripe with panasonic plasmas. I would happily pay a few hundred pounds for that feature alone.

I had a 50" LCD and it was useless so took it back and got a 42" Plasma...

i had plasma and it was also not good at all crt was still teh best but lcd was awesome in 94 inch projection front LED with ambilite hologram projection lighting adding effects looking great but with less power consumption other plasma but not really sure took it back for some heinz beans
