I am wondering why I got an American layout on my G15, ie the 2 button is @ and the 3 is # rather than " and £.

wtf

As in physically what is drawn on the key? - You have an american keyboard

Or just that's what you get when you press it? - your language and place is set to america, change it to the UK. Control panel > clock, language, region > location

oh dear, I am in the process of RMA'n mine back to Logitech (flickering backlight)

Cheers for the heads up, i'll make a note to them to ensure it is a UK spec keyboard :P

are you actually sending the unit back?

looks like I might get another free keyboard out of them lol... their Customer Service is fantastic but I cant understand how they can afford to replace products in such a relaxed manor.

omg this could prove painful!

Dear Sir/Madam,
Many thanks for your continued support, my replacement unit has been gratefully received. But I have been sent a replacement keyboard of the American type.
Please see Incident: ######-###### for previous information.

As I am in the UK surely the keyboard should have been replaced with another UK unit. I have attached two photos of the replacement keyboard, please draw your attention to the 2 and 3 keys, they should be " and £ not @ and #.

so I attached photos of both my original keyboard and my replacement from Logitech themselves. Finally a reply.

Thank you for contacting Logitech Customer Care.

I understand that you were sent a US English interface keyboard.
To change the language interface, please try the troubleshooting steps below.

1. Go to the Control Panel and click on Regional and Language Options.

2. Next click on the Languages tab and then click on the Details button.
This will load up the Text Services and Input Languages dialog box.
Here you will see the list of installed services and keyboards on your computer.
You can click Add to install a new keyboard layout and input language.

3. Choose the input language and choose the type of keyboard that you have attached to your computer.

*sigh*

Have you replied back to them again yet?
I would ask them to send you the keys even, that way you can fix the problem yourself.
I'm not sure of the US layout but if only a few keys it wouldn't be much hassle to do.

I have sent another message since

Thank you for your reply. The problem I have is not a software problem, it is the physical printing on the keyboard itself.

If you view picture IMG_0238.jpg you can see the UK (British) layout from my original keyboard, but the replacement in picture IMG_0240.jpg shows the US layout.

As I live in the UK and my original keyboard was of a UK layout then I would expect a UK replacement, not US?

Kind Regards,

It would be easier for them to just send me a UK keyboard, I have no problem with sending back the US one (although its probably not cost effective for them to bother asking for it back).

well this morning I had this in my inbox

Dear Mr. Baker,

Thank you for contacting Logitech Customer Care

Please take note of your reference number ######-###### the product will arrive within 7 to 10 business days.

Kind regards,

LOL case is now status = sovled, and they havent asked for the US one back, nor to destroy it..
Keep this thread posted tomorrow when it arrives.

Anyone wanna buy a US G15? :p:p

I've had my G15 for about 1 to 2 years and the paint has worn off a couple of the keys so its obvious when the backlight is on - would Logitech give me the time of day over this?

on the original version of the g15 rev 1 they said if you have one where the paint has come off (there were some bad batches for a long while) then they will replace it. Not sure if they wanted you to destroy it, or if they swapped the keys, or gave you the keys or what though

They should be able to send you replacement keys, provided you have proof of purchase.

Tried to do this with my G15 rev1, but I got it off a mate so no proofs. :(
