Hay all.

My m8 buying my current pc and so i will be buying new system but not sure what would be faster gaming for games like BFBC2.

I keeping my case/monitor/mouse/keyboard.

Budget max 600 but if can go cheaper would be a lot better if its about some performance in games.

What i have come up with so far.

AMD build = 510 pounds

Intel build = 564 pounds

I have not add aftermarket cpu coolers yet i forgot to do that lol

Thanks for any advice.

I would go for both specs with a Radeon 5770 10-20 pound more and dx11 more future proof and less power.
I'M not 100% sure but the memory you choose is 1600mhz don't thing neither amd nor intel cpu's you picked support that.

I personally would go for the AMD spec but would go with a different board.
30 pound more but allot better for future updates USB3.0 and Sata6/mb + option to go double 5770 if you feel the need for it in a couple of month

If you want to have Crossfire I would look at this 790X motherboard which can do symmetrical Crossfire at PCI-E 2.0 8X:

I would also go for this hard drive:

Cat what board would you go for if you want to crossfire to 5770 vapox ? The asus you quoted or my gigabite?
Just courious because driving to OcUk tomorrow and would be nice if the asusu does the job to save a couple of quid compared to the gigabite

I probs would do crossfire later if the psu i picked could run it ok.

I have another look at the ram if its not the right one.

So AMD build is as good as the intel one then even if its cheaper.

Thanks.

Both motherboards do Crossfire at the same speed and seem to have similar construction too. The Gigabyte has some extra features like USB3 and SATA 3.0 so it depends if these features are worth the extra £22 to you or not!

Also the OP should have a look at this article too:

@ cat cheers mate. Might go with Asus then not to bothered about usb 3.0 at the min.

@ OP I would go with AMD just because it's in my opinion the much better bang for the buck if you just want gaming. Hell you could even stretch and go 5850 with the AMD setup and would just be slightly over 600 mark
