I'm currently looking at buying a 330i(SE) in the Barrique Red metallic colour and I have only the pics on the website to go by.
My initial thoughts on this is that I like the colour and it appears to be quite rare. Is this because the majority think it looks pretty awful?

Seems to be quite a popular colour in the states but not so much for the EU market...

This is not the car in question, just an illustration of the colour:

I can see that being one of those "fashion" colours, that fast goes out of fashion.

looks alright, my recent 5 series purchase is in a less popular colour and it's quite nice not seeing every other car the same as yours

Err you cant get Le Mans blue on a 330i SE
Where did I say you could? I clearly just stated my colour preference.

You know damn well that Montego blue, although a much less cool name is also a lovely, very similar! colour to Le Mans.

I mean, how many people could say which car is which colour without looking it up?

It looks like a colour that was available on the E46, something bronze it was called I think, perhaps one of the individual specs.. Not sure.

I seem to remember seeing a couple of used M3's in that colour that were about £3k less than other cars in more popular colours.

Not to my liking but if you like it, why not. I would say that you'd have to consider the impact on resale value though.
