I'm actually really surprised how badly this is performing.

it made no difference when I had my cpu overclocked to 3.8GHz and has only gone down to 36degrees because I've switched the fans the way that is said and the window is open.

I used to get these temps before. I don't know if there's a requirement it the bios to set the 3pins to 100%, I've looked and played with them and again no difference.

my last cooler was the coolermaster v8 with varible speed so I'd take the guess that the pump should by default be on full. My case fan is the lower of the antec 1200 and that's again on full, the included corsair fan is plugged into cha_fan3 which didn't have any bios options, the ones which did where the opt_fan but again if I played I could only get 90% tops so again I'd have to believe they were full at default.

My motherboard is the crosshair III formula

Duno what you where expecting for £60 :D watercooling kits are normally around £200. For the size of the H50 compared to an Air cooler it was worth it for me, but I wasnt expecting it to out perform something like a V8. Got a phenom 955 C2 @3.8Ghz atm with overclocked HT/NB Idle @41c and loads at 58c, so 36c seems pretty good?

I don't know what it is but since running my 955 at 3.8GHz mu sensors seem to be off.

The lcd screen is lover than what core temp and everest states which usually they were pretty similar.

I hated my v8 as my zalman 9900 was slightly better which means that is maybe on par.

I might have to run it on stock and see how it performs as I was idle and max load around 30-34.

it might have been based on my overclock as I can never seem to get a higher than 16 multiplier stable. so I'd have a higher bus but still stock voltage

Ive swapped back to my H50 from a custom watercooled loop as my pump died, my temps at idle have gone up 7 degrees and 2-3 in game. This is a tempoary measure!

I didnt notice that much difference between the H50 and the stock intel heatsink, it was better under load though.

Its a £60 cooler and it works well and is quiet, cant expect much more for the money really.

Strange, I left the core clock on 200 and can get to 3.8, Ive dropped it down to 3.7Ghz atm as it require a lot less juice and runs cooler :D got HT/NB on 2.4Ghz now on 0.100+ NB cpu VID and all is good. I think I must have a higher ambient temperature as my pc is stuck in a corner next to the 40inch monitor that kicks off 30c. yesterday when I had 3.8 temps inside the case said 50c  :( so its no wonder why my overall cpu temp isn't too great. I blame the two Nvida 8800GT's i got running they run at like 70c :(, cant wait to get the new Ati cards should help my temps :D

My H50 was only 6-8c cooler from the old freezer pro. Cant hit much higher clocks with that. I have it blowing out of the case with 2 fans.

The E5200 I just built using this cooler sits at 68c doing 20 runs of IBT on a 4.0 OC at 1.4850v, but the idle temps is the same as the stock cooler.

Installed it per instruction on an Antec P183 case. Bad idea as it raised my mobo temps by almost 10c.

I've had a similar sort of experience myself. I installed the fan sucking in as per the instructions, the cpu temps were well down but my general temps were too high for my liking. I've turned the fan around and the general temps are lower but the cpu temps are about equal to the stock cooler I had in before this.

I'm using the standard supplied Corsair fan and an Antec 300. I don't know what my next move is atm, I don't want to add fans as it defeats the purpose imo. I've currently got the fan plugged into the cpu header and it's system managed, the pump is plugged into a standard pwr header and is at 100%. If I up the fan to 100% it's louder than my stock fan. I'm beginning to think I might have made a mistake with this purchase but some people are reporting excellent temps and others not so, so maybe I just need to have a play about to see what happens.

At this stage, for me anyway, the jury is still out on the H50.

Those reporting good temps are usually using 2 fans in push/pull set-up aside from the fact that most of them we're having bigger cases with loads of system fans.

Coolermaster V8 is pretty good for an air cooler - under-rated IMO - specially if you do a fan mod. Not the lowest idle temps but you can chuck a lot of heat at it and it will keep it under control.

Try plugging your pump to the CPU header and your fan to any fan or system header and see if it makes any difference. I did it on mine and the temp has gone down by about 5 - 6 degrees.
