Anyone else only playing just the hardcore mode? I've just been playing in Elliot Ness Hardcore servers #45 and #46 the last couple of days. Going back and playing the normal mode is infuriating! Only niggles with the hardcore mode though are that the tracer dart doesn't have a cursor/iron sights, and neither do any of the mounted machine guns! Wish there was a way of calling for a medic though!

I managed a headshot with the M24 but didn't have fraps running. Most of the time I can't hit them with LMGs so it wasn't down to skill!
I agree though - it is worryingly easy to shoot down parachutists using the tank MG.
finally got round to playing it and the game feels way too clunky for a battlefield game
bf2 is better stlll imo
BF2 has had god knows how many years of patches to get it right that game was a total mess when it was released give it time this is only a beta, i actually really like it upto date graphics and effects make it a more enjoyable game for me.
People hiding in buildings and a tank blowing away at them on bf2 and nothing happening just isn't realistic is it, this is a better experience.

I plan on picking the game up about the 16th Feb but until then I've been playing the demo on the PS3 and I love it.

I really don't understand people calling this "clunky"; I have played every FPS under the sun and this, to me, is as smooth and fluid as any of them. When I had my settings to high it felt "clunky". Maybe if this is the first game you have played with no strafe and sprint. Apart from these reasons I can't see where these guys are coming from.
Anyone else have this running fine and can confirm/enlighten me to the "clunkiness"?

I tried the ps3 demo also runs nice but the gfx just lack the cutting edge of the pc, and no aa makes it look terrible.

Yeah, I thought that but till I get the PC version it's all I've got and it gives me some experience. I play BF2 every night it's the only multiplayer game that I have played since release infact since 2005 I have bought BF2 3 times .
Yeah you're not going to get the speed of movement across a map, as in Quake based games, that would be unrealistic and silly. I thought people already knew that and were calling the available movement "clunky".

It is very good.
A weakness could be it is very much a team based game and a weak team is way more apparent then in other MP FPS's. Your not gonna be a one man army in this, against a good team playing together.
Plus the much mentioned hit detection/apparent inaffectiveness of bullets in non-hardcore mode matches.

The good old days when there was dolphin diving, being able to throw (not just C4, but ammo and health) /shoot in mid air and last but most certainly not least a time when many of the guns ACTUALLY WORKED.
It's DICE's biggest flaw, bring out a pretty good game, patch a few bugs and make some improvements along the way, then wreck it all by patching out the fun because of a small minority of whingers who want to turn every game into a simulator.
ive just been encountered by 2 people on my team, telling me to switch sides or they will just keep trying to kill me.

haha i just laugh , like last night we were about half way through a map took the first two points really quick on attack then everyone just sat back and we lost
