I did a quick Google and Ryanair seem to be the only one I can find but are there any others?

Thanks in advance!

Why don't you just use a passport like everyone else? Honestly, they're very usefull!

Passports are very expensive and you don't need them to travel internally (apart from with Ryanair, of course), so whats the point?

errrr, i don't know, what if i wanted to travel to a different country?

In that case, he'd get a passport. What's the point in wasting £70 + an interview (so a day wasted) on something when a driving license that he already has will do?

because getting a passport takes time and they last for a long time, so if he gets it now then if he needs it urgently later he's already got it.

If all his family live in the UK I can't really think of an occasion where he'd need a passport within 4 weeks (holidays etc are generally pre planned) if he does need one urgently there's always the same day/next week services...

As someone who has escaped from a country in an emergency situation, I know full well the importance of having a passport at all times.

Had I not had my passport when I did ten years ago, i'd almost certainly be dead by now.

While it's certainly the case that not everybody can affoard to take holidays. A passport will last you 10 years, so I'd say its highly likely that you might travel somewhere during a decade that requires it. Not to mention it remains the best form of ID you can possibly have.
