and it was like that in the movies. If you sit still while cloaked, you're invisible... if you move in front of a player, they will see you.
as you can see in this scene from the movie.

How so? My impression is that the cloak is about as useful as an Alien sitting in a shadow. Without it predators may as well paint a target on themselves

Marines will miss the cloaked predator's presence if they are not being vigilent, which is pretty easy when you are already being chased by an Alien intent on eating your brain
I doubt anyone would enjoy a MP game when they could be trophy killed by a totally invisible, totally silent predator.

The aliens at the very least shouldn't have the ability to see through walls then IMO.
I dunno tbh, i think it gives them a nice little edge and its in keeping with what they are, they don't have eyes like the marines and predators. When i was playing as the alien i found it helpful but didn't think it was really overpowered.
As for being killed by a totally silent/invisible predator or even alien i think thats part of the satisfaction of playing them. Personally i' find it extremely satisfying sneaking up on someone successfully with them unaware you're behind/above/in front of them them.

I found that you can rule a game simply by sprinting through the mid and lower levels of the map as an alien, using the sight through walls to pick your targets and escape from fire quickly.
I think the range for seeing through walls should be reduced or even replace the mechanic with a time limited trail of where another player has recently been.
We could defend seeing through walls as the aliens don't have a real ranged attacked (not really played predator enough to talk about predator ranged weapons) and glitch like mad on crates and other smaller multi-surface objects, although that is more likely just a case of skill and using sufrace transistion better..
I was only joking, you always get someone saying that in a nerfed argument.
Cloak is pretty much worthless. It works if someone isnt paying attention and it can be a bit hard to get a proper bead on target.

Had a quick whirl testing all three classes. I enjoy Marine the most. I actually think the MP is rather balanced and shouldn't be messed with anymore. Actually, making the Marine a little bit faster wouldn't go amiss. Graphics, not too good, definitely looks a bit dated, but doesn't matter too much for £17. I also think the Predator avatar is too small. In the movie it towers over Arnie and Friends and in the game it's only a tad bigger. I'll reserve judgement for the final product. Right now I'm sadly not holding much hope.

could it be to do with balancing? if the preddy was much bigger it would be a easy target.
Its only about an extra two foot in height and the alien is bigger(or equal) so I'm not sure it would make much difference. Besides its hard to get decent references for size in the game while your running about and chopping heads off. I think the sizes in game are accurate(or as close as that can be).

Well I've played this for about an hour today, and I like it so far. It seems that when it comes to close combat, whoever gets the first strike wins. I find it hard to turn round and retaliate unless you get a lucky shot.
Predators are fun to play as for sure, nothing is more rewarding then seeing the triangle lock with the plasma cannon!
As fun as it is online, I think the SP will be the best part.
I do really hate the server management. I thought MW2 was bad :/
