Bit of an issue. :o

How do i get a larger budget for players wages? I currently have 52k but i am spending £51k or so...meaning i have £2m in the bank, not allowed to sell any players because i don't have many...and can't sign anyone really...does it get bigger in the Premiership? Currently in the Championship.

From what I can remember it increases slightly each year, I had real problems when I played as Carlisle and got them to the prem, couldn't buy anyone!

Something they could do with solving for next year!

I've played so many different seasons of manager mode - I think that the player wage budget increases each season if you meet the board objectives.

I remember reading that EA chose to do this so that league 1 teams can't jump straight up to the premiership in a few seasons (to make it more realistic).

You could try upgrading the negotiator in the staff menu and then going to player contracts and try renewing them at a lower wage. That might work.

The biggest tip I ever got was to increase your scout to 10/10 as fast as possible. Players the scout finds at 10/10 are both superb and on silly cheap wages.

It's the easiest way to rocket up the divisions. I've got a 4 1/2 star team (originally in League 2) on total wages of £20-22k per match.

I have definetly played Manager Mode wrong this time, still in the premiership with Yeovil but struggled getting new players, thanks for the advice.

On another note, anybody struggled with cup games in Manager Mode? I have just played a 5th round FA Cup match against Man U and won only to find I have a premier league game on the same day!?!?!?! Anybody had this issue?

I used this to get the achievement to get a half star team to a five star - It's an easy way.

The first thing I do in manager mode is increase the fitness coach to 8-10. Players get less tired and can play more matches without having to revolve them each match.

Someone has set up a small database of the best young players in Fifa 10.

Back to mass effect 2!

Yup, been like this since day 1 and still no fix from EA. Make sure that you've got a squad of 22 players. :p

I found manager mode very difficult at the start as I had no weekly wage budget (I am Accrington Stanley), but soon figured it out. I have been promoted every season and won the premier league, I am on my second season in the premier league and my wage budget is ~£48k a game.

My team has no real players in it at all, I found I simply couldn't afford there wage. I have all the generated players under 19 rated 82+ that are in my manager mode and they all accepted sub £1k wages. I appreciate that its a bit lame to have no real players but there would be no chance of me having a good team if I didn't play this way:

I upgraded my negotiator to level 8, which means I can offer teams half the players value and they still sell them to me. Also I don't have to increase there wage significantly to entice them away. At the end of the last season I sold 20players (rated 70->80) from my team and bought 20players (rated 82->86) back in and made a profit of £10million.

The game is still floored in manager mode but I suppose I can't expect Fifa game play and championship manager style managing.
