beacause i have all way like the look of the xfx ones and was think of useing one(or 2) or them in my next bild (core i5 6gb dd3)
 
They are reasonable cards and in some games get excellent frame rates but it wouldn't be my choice of card, not now when there are better nvidia ones available / will be available. If you can get one cheap then maybe worth a punt if costs are low enough.
 
If you're going to spend that kind of money, particularly in the example of rig that you mentioned, then I'd go for more current higher end gpu's like : second hand 280 / 285 (only if good price) or a new 5850 / 5870 or you can wait for fermi (nvidia's new gpu's out in the spring).

You want to do the rest of the rig justice. ;)

Aye, they do get hot. I've just taken a short break to come on here for a bit, having played the new Stalker game and even with the case fan up to the hilt and the 4870X2 at 100% fan the temps were still in the high 60's / 70's. I think it needs a clean. :)

and i cant spell it not no bigey i will get a fermi card when thay come out and 2 8800gt 4 now thank you ( i am a mac use so did not know the date the fermi card where coming out )

After much deliberation, some guesswork, and running it past several commitees, I have deciphered this:

To be something along the lines of:

Fermi is out in the spring. I might wait for them and just get a used 8800gt (because I am using an 8400gs laughing my plucking arse off)
