STS-130 Shuttle Mission to the International Space Station Launches Sunday 09:39 GMT

They will unless the delay is for weeks (hope not :(). The launch window gets about 23-25 minutes earlier each day.

Feel sorry for everyone with LTT tickets (you don't get refunds on a last-minute scrub). Can you tell I've been doing my research? :D

That must be gutting...can you imagine if you planned a holiday especially to coincide with a launch?

You'd be madly rearranging your return flights so you could stay to watch it.

The window for tomorrow is 09:09:02 - 09:19:02 with launch planned for 09:14:02.

At least you won’t have to get up in the middle of the night to see it. :D

I don't need to do any imagining, because I did. :D

Fortunately I'm good until 29th March. Fingers crossed (again). :)

Oooooooo exciting!

The closest I've got to a shuttle launch is watching one that my brother had recorded while he was over there.:(

Even on a ten year old camcorder it was blooming impressive!

I have always wondered why they use cape c as. There main launch site when the weather always seems so unpredictable?

It's the most favourable place in the US, given the requirements. Launch needs to head eastwards to catch ISS, so the next best option (California) isn't an option at all (you don't want SRB or, heaven forbid, Shuttle parts landing on a populated area). Also, you want to be as close to the equator as possible as that's where you get the best boost from Earth's own spin.

Closest area to the equator for them, lot of open space, sparsley populated :)

... and good weather, not a danger to populated areas as rockets launched over the sea, eastern launches could take advantage of the earth’s rotation.

Launch Director Mike Leinbach informs the crew that a low cloud ceiling over the Kennedy Space Center has forced postponement of the launch:

The official forecast for both Monday and Tuesday predicts that there is a 40% chance of low cloud cover being a problem again.
