BC2 BETA... Your thoughts and SCREENSHOTS of it

I'm having punkbuster installation timeouts? Anyone else having this problem, I've never had problems like this with PB before.

It installed fine for me when it ran from Steam. I had loads of problems getting it to work properly when i did it on CoD4 though.

Awesome video! You can tell he isnt hacking as his scope goes through the shot, not shoot and back exactly where it was, also he doesnt shoot at the same spots, he also naturally switches to pistol after the shot, all common things among experienced fps players. But the bc2 video this all started from- my opinion: hax.

I did a speed test and yes thanks to virgin media my bandwidth is at 1/4 of its original speed, but still I should be getting around 300KB/s download, but both NVIDIA and Guru3D is giving me between 30-60KB/s trying to download the new NVIDIA drivers as I noticed it's updated for BC2 - something isn't right with my internet tonight anyway.
 
Downloads from those two sites will be partly dependent on what they're able to upload, if they're busy you're going to get a slower download rate mate. It's not a great test.
 
Well, I have just been playing it and it was so terrible I just had to turn it off. I have now played it on the Xbox 360, the PS3 and the PC. Sorry to say people, but PC gamers have been screwed over once again, it's a console game. It plays SO much better on the consoles, the atmosphere is more intense, close quarter combat etc. The PC version is all about distance shooting and getting sniped. It sucks. I guess it's because the environments are quite open and PC gamers have the advantages of higher res and textures etc. However to this game it hurts the gameplay. I feel quite disappointed tbh, when I played it on the consoles I thought wow this will be awesome on the PC, but it really is terrible in comparison. :(
 
It's worse on the PC because you can aim and have better graphics? That's a new one! Snipers have been far less of a problem for me since I started moving to cover and not running about like some folks do. Play a sniper - it gets easier to avoid them once you're fairly good at it and I now mostly play an engineer.

No you aren't grasping what I am saying. Because the PC version is crisper, you can see further into the distance, and sniping is easier. But because of this everyone is firing at long range trying to ping each other, rather than rushing in and actually getting to the objective with bombs going off around you. You just tend to sit back and shoot at a distance because the second you step out into the open you die - it gets really boring. Where as the console version is better because the sniping isn't so much of a problem and people tend to aim closer and more close combat is involved.

The PC version has better graphics but that's about all it does have on it. I just found the PC version not only to feel really choppy and buggy but it didn't have the same style of play that BC2 is obviously made for.

You've played maybe a couple of games on a server and came to all of those conclusions....based on a single map on a beta that is still a work in progress.

Derp? That's a new one...

I don't need to play for days to realise it is buggy and choppy, for me to even encounter that many bugs within the first few minutes is a very bad sign, when I still haven't encountered any on the console versions.

I will persist though and play a few more games, but the first 2 games I played people were spawn camping and everyone was sniping which was extremely lame - PC gamers aren't supposed to be as "pathetic" as console gamers lol it seems the boat has switched here as I didn't really encounter any camping on the consoles and I have been playing it for about 2 days now. Don't look at me as a console gamer, I am a PC gamer at heart, I would much rather play this game on the PC but I just feel it wasn't built for it, but anyway I will try a few more games see if my opinion changes.
 
Anddd the exact same thing is happening, everyone is camping and my team can't even get over the hill without being shot by a machine gun or a sniper and the opposing team is just launching grenades left right and center lol
 
its hit and miss vortx, depends on servers. I just quit the games that wind up like what you're saying, its not the game thats at vault, its the poor map design - I would be bothered about it but 2142 had a crap map for the demo too.
