TV Licence rip off...

tbh i never watch TV as its full of garbage and nothing interests me on it,very rare if im watching TV,although i do watch movies on dvd

I don't disagree dude, the BBC has done some very good things, I have the Planet Earth on bluray and Life but I bought that, I very rarely use the BBC for anything apart from Match of the Day from the live TV service.

My point was that we have no choice but to pay for the service, whether we want to or not.

If people didn't pay for it by choice then I'm sure things would get worse, that would be pretty clear to most people.

As I type this I just realised I also watch Top Gear...

The BBC pay for their forecasts ( a lot of money at that), and present the forecast data in a managable way fr the public.
 
Just don't pay the license.

I'm 33 and have only paid for it once in my life and refuse to pay for it out of principle. The BBC is crap and 97% of the programming they show is mind dumbing social engineering crap.

I'll admit I do watch it occasionaly but if they have a problem with me watching tv without a license they're welcome to stop broadcasting to my house as I could easily live without it.

Well ive got a letter saying i havnt paid my liscense so they are refunding me £40

Surely if i havnt been paying it i would be entitled to no refund and in fact owe them money.

So after this im not paying them out of principle and to be honest they would never catch me due to where i live unless they have a abseiling team plus a helicopter observation team which i doubt.

So to be honest there balls up = there fault and ive kept all paper work and shall enjoy shoving it up there noses if they ever do knock.

I would rather bbc service were payg if you wanted them like the channels on sky. I dont want bbc channels so why should i pay just coz i can received them..

They are the only people that can say your are guilty before being innocent. Why should i have to prove i dont watch there channels....

I dont have to prove i didnt burgle the house at the end of the road?

they should have to prove i do watch there channels. Which there equipment cant do even if it did exist

It always makes me laugh how people rant about the T.V. licensing. BBC show some decent programs with no adverts. Let's face it, we all watch BBC at some point during the week. I know i do, more than I watch Sky which is only usefull for Movies and Sport.

Conversely, Sky seem to charge the earth for a load of carp basically. Most of their products are imported from the accross the pond and add insult by advertising. Yet some how that's acceptable. Beyond me.

I am more than happy to pay £145 for the BBC, despite Top Bloody Gear, EastEnders and Holby City - anything to avoid Murdoch's Merde.
 
Im gonna fling my TV out when the license runs out this year. Its not worth a single penny. BBC should be advert funded. All were doing is funding their Xmas bonuses and trash like Come Dancing or Come whatever else they'll think off.

Wish they had tech out there that can lock out the BBC from a new telly so you wont even recieve it. When you buy it they ask "BBC or no BBC". If you want it later you can get unlock code and pay the license.

Ridiculous thing and its just gonna go up and up and up. With YouTube, online TV catchup & great games the case for a telly is becoming very weak.

Strictly Come Dancing is one of the most successful shows produced. It gets very high ratings and has been sold to 30 other countries. That you don't like it isn't really relevant in the face of that.
