Was thinking about buying it, as I quite enjoy 'post-apocalyptic' films such as 28 Days Later and so on.

If you've seen it, what have you got to say about it? :)

Saw it when I was probably around 10yrs old. Absolutely terrified me, was having nightmares about nuclear attacks for ages afterwards.
I have been wanting to see it again for several years now but its not the kind of film they tend to show over and over on TV. ;)

Been quite a few threads (hoho) about this film over the years - I think it's fantastic... quite spooky to watch during the Kosovo crisis a few years back. Will no doubt be out of the DVD rack again once the world police invade Iran.

I started to watch it but didn't get through to the end. The plot is quite slow and it's not exactly crammed with SFX :D It's more of a thought provoker.

I bought the DVD last year, even though its aged its still a great film and very thought provoking.

Saw it for the first time today. A film has never moved me that much...

It was incredibly well done. The fact it's ~25 years old adds to the atmosphere for me. The first ~45mins were completely gripping, the middle was truly harrowing and the ending was, well, more harrowing.

I have this film. Watched it last year. Very good, but nowhere near as powerful as The War Game, which I also have. If you enjoyed Threads, watch The War Game. At the time of its production, the BBC considered it too horrific for broadcasting. Even today it is immensely powerful.

More powerful than Threads? Jesus :(

I think i've had enough nuclear cinema for this year...

The War Game is in black and white, but it chilled me to the core. For a 1960s documentary, it is painfully realistic. The scenes of burn victims and people dying of radiation sickness will stay with you long after the film has ended.

w00t, I've just found it on Google Videos. Click here and enjoy.
