Hi all,

I just got a new Xbox 360 Elite, I owned a premium a couple years back and remembered it coming with a HD cable with a little switch box attached to it for HD/SD. My new elite just seems to have a bog standard SCART type lead for SD only. Is this right and I have to shell out another £25 for the HD component lead or am I doing it wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for quick response.

Can't do HDMI, my ageing TV only has 2 ports and they are both taken up. Well that has pee'd me right off.

Other than price, any pros / cons of using the HD component lead over HDMI?

Nothing worthy of note tbh. Component due to its nature gives a 'smoother' look to the image and HDMI is sharper, which you prefer is a matter of preference at the end of the day.

Goes from bad to worse, the copy of MW2 I got with the console is duff. Put the disk in and the 360 sees it as a DVD, play it and just a white Xbox 360 splash screen appears and nothing else happens.

I know how you feel!

The old component leads had the optical out as well so I had to buy the proper microsoft hdmi kit that comes with the optical adapter.

Fired my elite up for the first time and it shook like a mad one. Something is off blance inside. If that wasn't enough the left trigger on the control makes an annoying squeak!

(I only bought mine the other week)
