This is the 24 bus where I've seen the occasional tramp smoking heroin on the top deck and other such delights A Muslim driver getting off to pray barely registers on the weird-o-meter

This is nothing new, lots of Muslim bus drivers have been known to stop and pray towards Mecca during their bus journeys. They're supposed to pray at a certain time of the day regardless of what other "plans" they have. Then again, he could well have done it because of this:

Some of the passengers thought he was a terrorist but they did nothing.

This is the bit that confuses me, if I was in a situation like this I would have at least demanded an explanation from the driver. I'm surprised so many people took it so calmly. Fair enough not all Muslim's are terrorists, I understand that but something like this would certainly have me very worried.

Only a word, I would have thought that the boot was appropriate.

More than likely he can't be fired for attending to his own religious beliefs.
