I have the 24-70mm and it never comes off my camera it truly is a amazing piece of glass. What's sitting behind it a D700 or D3 ?

No D90 is a very good camera, when I had a D300 I nearly got the 24-70mm before I went FF. Do you plan on going FF in the future ?

Yes, eventually, my friend has a D300, that i intent to buy when he upgrades ... will be another year yet.

I know its a bit of a mad purchase, especially as im still learning photography, but i had the money so thought sod it.

I bought a Sigma 24-70mm F/2.8 a couple of weeks ago (non HSM version) and it was a complete dog, really soft and way to much colour aboration. I sold this to my brother for £20 less than i paid for it......hes happy enough with it. so all is well.

I cant see me ever not enjoying photography, so after the Sigma saga i promised myself i would only buy the best, even if i have to wait to be able to afford it.


EDIT: Phate, be gone with you, this is a Nikon safe zone, all Canon heads will be shot on sight .... Nick & Ray have already be 'dealt with'

All my photo's ... I wanted the best walkabout lens i could buy and this was it, from Portraits to landscapes, to my visits to my local nature reserve. I want to be able to take good photographs and this lens will help. Like willis says, it will be the last lens (in this range) i will ever buy.

Cool, just wondering as I have a D90 myself and Im planning on buying some more lenses over the next couple of months, specifically a zoom and a wide angle for landscapes, possibly a macro too; so I was just wondering if it was for anything specific
