I'm looking to get as close to silent as possible. Could u hear the pump much in a dead silent room with no fans at all running?

Thanks Brad.

I have two H-50's and the pump on them is driving me potty so yes in my case.
Its the loudest thing in my rig and i can hear it over 5 apaches,1 noctua and a antec tri-cool when all are running low rpms.I have a Antec P182 case so thats not the problem.
I dont know why so many people say there silent, maybe i just have two duds?

Can't hear mine at all.

Only have 2 fans in my rig, a 120mm on the H50, and a 200mm in the case, both at low speed settings.

My rig is pretty much silent.

Yeah a lot of people say they cant hear it.Do you use the corsair fan as i find that way louder than the apaches?

OP it maybe that i'm just to fussy with noise but as i said it can be clearly heard over 7 x 120mm fans on low.
I also think people perception of noise varies a lot too.

No I haven't used the Corsair fan, I am using the Tri-Speed fan that is built into the Antec P180 Mini with it set to 'Low' so it's silent :)

Yeah i use mine in the bottom chamber to cool hard drive on low too and agree its silent.
Maybe i do have two dud pumps then:(

I sent first h-50 back to the retailer i used and the tested it saying it was fine.I mailed corsair about it and they told me to send it back but tbh the postage form Ireland would be about 35euro so not really worth my while.

@ Bradley
Do a search on the forums as there where a couple of threads if i remember correctly that some people had noise issues.

It's not silent at all. It hums/buzzes depending on how close you are to it, stick your head next to it and you can hear a buzz, sitting near it and with fans in the case it's more like a hum. Once or twice a day might hear an air bubble bounce round the loop, makes swishy noises on startup too.

As for it being heard over 7 fans making no noise, well that's not too hard, I can hear my HDD accessing too. You can hear a lot over the sound of a low volted 120mm.

Another thing, my case is about 1.5 feet from me, on my desk. If it was under my desk it would be quieter.

It's all very subjective, I'm using an Antec P180 mini, I can easily hear it with the fans on low, fans on medium, well most of what I hear is just the fans then.

The tone of the pump isn't particularly annoying. Annoying would be the tiny fans ASUS puts on their low profile cards which whine rather than buzz/hum why is why I removed the one on mine.

You're not going to know if it's as quiet as you want til you get one because some people have worse hearing than others but don't buy one thinking it's silent. If you want silent you'd have to spend more, have a slower computer or muffle it to death.

If you use the same fan then the H50 is louder than a cooler just made of metal plates. It's not possible for it to be quieter. Cooler, maybe, but that's never guaranteed especially if you have a good air brick already.

Well its to go in a itx build so it really needs to be as quiet as a 7v 120mm fan. I think I'm better off with a decent air cooler. Its only to cool a little E5200 with a mild OC.

Hehe, think of a stock intel C2D cooler (45mm high), then shrink it in height by 1/5.

That's the Silverstone NT07-775 that's cooling my E8400, idles on high 30's, not bad for an ITX its size (think of a couple of little netbooks stacked up) :D

Deadly Silent!!!!! > one of the first models, even with my head in the case. The loudest component in my build is the dvd-rw when it spins up.

It's not as silent as everyone makes out to be;) however I can't hear it above the rest of my computer. The fan supplied is very noisy.

I hear a low constant bussing noise from the H50, just installed it in my p183 case the other day with an apache fan. The apache fans are silent though. I can hear the buzz when I close my case but its a faint noise which I suppose I can live with (think I have super human hearing :S).

I was kinda hoping for silence when I bought it but to be honest Im happy with the low noise compared to my previous cpu cooler which was too loud for my sensitive ears! Though if some people have absolutely silent H50's (minus the fan) I wonder if its down to percieved noise?

I have a Noctua S12B on my rad but apart from that I can't hear it at all when the PC lid is closed. Only if it's open and I'm actively trying to hear it, and usually it's under my desk either way.

The loudest component in my system is my graphics card (new water loop arriving in ~2 days), if I undervolt/clock it and jam the fan (0% speed doesn't cut it), the whole system is completely noiseless.

It's fairly audible when starting up though.

I'm pretty sure its perceived noise unless Corsair has for some reason got a mix of silent and non silent pumps and makes sure when the non-silent pumps get rma'd they get replaced with a similar non-silent pump.

I've never heard of someone returning their H50 for not being silent and getting one back which was any different. Corsair has said that's the noise it makes.

From there it can be made to sound quieter (or louder) by your case, where you put it and the kind of ambient noise around the place.

Well that's the thing my room is silent and the case sits on top of my desk. Im very fussy with noise when it comes to Pcs which is why im a watercooler. Maybe some noise dampening would be worth adding.
