decade even (new logitech k300 kb, getting used to it lol)

only ask as I am watching interview with a vampire atm, forgot how good a film it was/is

my fave film of all time is Jaws, 'we need a bigger boat'. some of the old black and white movies are still v good, Hitchcock movies for example

what modern films (last 10 years or so) will still be watched in 20-30 years time do you think?

not sure about Star Trek, LOTR definitely, maybe the Matrix aswell

could also be a generation thing tho cos for me its films I grew up with or chrimbo tv :)

Transformers was successful (ish) because of the blokes that remembered the cartoon series/toys imho

this is why I asked the question I guess, is there anything that really will stand the test of time, dont get me wrong I have watched a lot oif really good films but can I name them off the top of my head?

was Alien/Aliens or Terminator an IRL possibility?

I guess the saw series maybe will be remembered, I know this is more of a generation thing tbh because of what we all grew up with. I put films on that are classics (in my opinion haha) and my kids dont get it lol

You've met my wife lol.

No seriously though as quoted LOTR is a good one, and if i may add, one of the only few if not ONLY films this last decade to run at the top. MInd you lest not forget some of the failures of yester year that today are considered cult classics (Le Mans being one of my favourites, think someone also mentioend "It's a wonderfull life" which is a very good film.

But have any in the noughties been made that will or could be considered future classics? Despite the amazing graphics, i fear they won't be a touch on the 70's/80's/90's films.

Just my 10$ worth

The Matrix and LOTR obviously. Nothing else stands out as a definite but I'm going to say Serenity :p

Serenity ? I never watched the Firefly series, and do have that film, but found it was a dry plot towards the end. Not one i'd consider a 2-3 times a tyear viewwer to me, Hot Fuzz...now there's a film i could watch over and over and laugh my a** off again and again.
