Hey
I dont know if this was JUST me.. but when i was 9-10 (im 25 now) My family were MAD on the ZX Spectrum!.. we even used to spend 2 hours entering a code just to make a clock appear!.. anyways We couldnt get enough of it! Then one day dixens had a MASSIVE sale on and we upgraded to a master system. (im coming to the point now) When i/we first saw The graphic on Sonic.. my whole family and indeed my self, just could NOT belive how amazing the graphics were! WOW! 16Bit.. lol And i remeber thinking graphics CANT get better than this!!:DNow as the years pass on i can look back on some of them games and think.. WTF was i thinking?! how could i play this with these graphics! lol .. Now ive been guilty of thiking that over the years of many games! Admit it.. you have thought the same! What are these games that at the time you thought were AMAING looking.. and now you look back and cant belive how BAD they were lol!
Please try not to repost:D

P.s heres mine

Sonic 1 (master system)
Skitchen! (mega drive)
Mortal Kombat (master system)
BALLZ (mega drive)
Virtual Racer (Saturn) this has simply got to be the worst :'( lol
WWF Royal Rumble (dream cast)

Imagine 20 years down the line :|

But yeah, that is a fair comment, I remember my 2D sega mega drive. Oh yes :)

Side Note: lol MY little neice who's 4 At the mo has just got her first wii!.. cant belive she will be thinking the same of such games as HAWK, Fallout 3, Metal gear solid 4 Bioshock 2and Mass effect 2! "WTF how could i play on crysis 2! Look at these **** poor graphics.."..... Unless she gets to 24 and has a life :).. and dosnt have time to reflect on such foolish things.. :D

Ah remember the days of going to my mates house, 5 port 10mb switch, 2 Pentium 1s with no more than about 64mb of ram playing doom over an IPX connection :D

Good times

Which was all put to sleep when GTA came out a couple of years later :p

I remember my NES, I got it when I was 4 or 5 (I think), playing the Ninja turtles game which you have the map part with random tanks and stuff driving around, and then you went into the sewers and it was a side scroller, and you kept having to find the pizza. I remember always using the 1 with the stick.

Good times :D

Lol!! We didnt have much money tbh :( We were a little behind but none of us minded! Spectrum had some amazing games! I still love playing the odd word adventure.. and putting F*k in to see what it says back.. AHHH good old days :D

i remember playing sonic 3d on the mega drive after playing sonic 1 and 2 and 3 for years! and thought, OMG! HOW can this get any better?! hehe

Most awe inspiring games of the time for me in order:

Sonic 2
Zelda Ocarina of Time
Metal Gear Solid 1
GTA 3
Crysis
Final Fantasy XIII is currently the game that amazes me most

yes, i remember buying a magazine with the codes you could copy into your amstrad (which i had) just to see some naff graphics, which in those days were great. Moving pictures, which in a way you done.

You're right Adam, I think a lot of us look back on old games with Rose tinted specs on.... In my mind, Werewolves of London had great graphics on the amstrad but the reality is somewhat different :D

The 'buzzing' sound when you ate people will never age though.
