BC2 BETA... Your thoughts and SCREENSHOTS of it

I've always found stamina meters to be a good way of curbing bunnyhopping, you can do it on occasion but you can't play the entire game bouncing around like a rabbit on speed.

Yeah where the hell has prone gone?! What were they thinking when you have snipers. Or is this something brought over from console.

I don't think they ever intended it to be included. Spotting a sniper is hard enough as it is. Plus this way it forces momentum ingame rather than have people hiding behind walls the entire time.

The problem there is that many bunny hoppers don't hop for all their kills and would usually have enough hop left in them when they meet you face to face.

I think a bit of a compromise between vault obstacles only and full on bunny hop could be easily made. You shouldn't be able to jump quite so high and perhaps a small delay between pushing space and going airborne, remove the possibility of firing while airborne and have a severe deviation penalty for a second when you land. Throw in a context sensitive vault over maneuver and I'd be happy.

I just wish they would remove the jump key. It has no place whatsoever - it should only work over obstacles.

Nothing wrong with the jumping, its not hard to hit someone jumping about. I find people who moan about bunnyhoppers just need to learn to aim on a moving target. Usually they play on a server of noobs who dont jump and so never improve their aim for taking out people jumping abit. Its not hard.

People who jump are just playing the game to its full abilities and so may gain an advantage and rightly so. And before someone says you dont jump about in real life like that in a gun fight, I mean come on its a game... and an arcade game at that not even a sim. Go play PR or something if you want a more realistic game play.

really i dont see what the issue is, my buddy quite rightly pointed out to me yesterday, you dont see the men in iraq or afgan running round like madmen into the reign of fire
camping is good, its a tactical way of points and if points is what its all about then i say camp!!

This really isn't about skill, it about trying to improve the game experience. I want to think that I'm in an intense battle with other like minded souls that have logged on for that taste of warfare. One that borders on the edge of reality, but is just real enough to make it feel plausible. When I see people hopping around just for a cheap advantage it completely pulls me out of that illusion, it just looks so unbelievably ludicrous. Battlefield has always been dressed up in real world attire, it doesn't have to be a sim to fix an issue that looks so pathetic.

Also, if they removed the bunny hop, then everyone would be at the same disadvantage, and therefore would have no disadvantage. So your notion of lacking skills falls down, cant we just make the game look better?

Well you dont see people running about like madmen into fire mainly because they dont get a chance to re spawn.

Everyone is already at the same advantage with jumping, its there so use it, if you dont your loss. To me the game looks fine as is, I like the arcade battlefield feel. I dont play for a taste of semi accurate warfare, to me no game really does that PR maybe but all in all its just a game. In fact id want it to be abit different with abit of jumping etc, keeps it fast pace and feeling like a game. Games that limit jumping etc just encourage people to camp, then its boring and people just sit about and if you step out you get shot, so you dont, and the circle continues.

I don't see how limiting jumping encourages camping. I've been playing since the beta came out and the vast majority of players don't feel the need to hit their jump key all the time when attacking. If jump was disabled it would be an annoyance, but the majority of players only seem to use jump when going over an obstacle or through a window anyway, so players wouldn't suddenly camp if they couldn't jump.

I love this game so far my only issue is the c4 users that blow the objectives up straight away :(
The most fun on it so far is trying to keep the hill after the first push that everyone snipes from, always manages to turn into a massive battle.

Its all about giving your character a free feeling to it. Once things are limited or reduced the game start to feel slugish and restricted to play. And its not about hitting jump everytime you attack. Most of the time I either strafe or crouch, but if something goes wrong you know you can jump to get away if needed. Just makes the game flow more when playing and not fighting against your own players controls.

There is a way to absolutely destroy that, like I do.
Take the tank, drive up the right, over the small hill and fence towards the Second base/In house on second floor objective. Then blow everyone to smithereens and destroy objective :)

Sounds like one of the many problems I have encountered.

I white screen quite regularly, my ATI 5770 crashes and my VPU recover kicks in, screen freezes, when starting on the attacking side the screen is totally black apart from my team makers above their heads, etc etc.

Should all be getting fixed but how they reckon this game will be ready in a little over a month is beyond me!

mine doesnt freeze though, i double click bc2, the window opens, but its all white, the whole screen is white, then it just closes to the desktop. back to square one

Saved me commenting - thanks. Agree completely.

I've found that whilst the game detects a 360 pad, it won't detect the right analogue stick - making flying a chopper with the pad much harder :/

Hopefully they'll add proper 360 pad support in for vehicle use.
