First impressions of the F10 BMW 5 Series

It is amazing how more radical car designs often do grow on you with time and the E60 was quite a departure from the design evolution up to that point. I'd have to say that the classic good looks of the E39 still stand out though. It's the first BMW I really noticed and liked the shape of (and still do).

Colour of the B5 is Alpina Blue which is pretty much the default colour, though Alpina have brought out a pearlescent green now as well that is supposedly exclusive. I've not seen it in the flesh though.

I know it sounds a bit weird, but I really like that Alpina, except the front bumper, I am an adamant supporter of the M Sport design, with the triple drill/intake business.

My E60 has carpeted door bins. It was standard :p

Seriously can't wait for my test drive now :)

My biggest concern is what shocking phone you used to take the photo with ;)

Tbh, living with an E60 everyday, I see lots of E60 in the dash, the way it sweeps towards a central focal point then drops down to the centre console and material quality is similar to the LCI E60s.

Oh, and that bit on top of the dash is a speaker, same as the E60, for the Nav :)

If this pic is real, then it smacks of budget cost cutting!!! At least they had the decency to swap the centre console over to RHD in the E60!!!!!

My leather bit runs down the left hand side of the CC :D

in hindsight, how anyone can think that the passenger side of those two interiors (E60 and F10) is drastically different needs to play with more shapes!

It could be that the ones that are in the UK aren't full production spec, like PMKeates mentioned the other week, and will be destroyed..

I can't imagine they will keep it like that for the RHD market, it looks ridiculous.

The LHD F10 has the leather portion facing the driver. The UK cars we have seen have the leather portion facing the driver, too. So, they have swapped the console from LHD to RHD, but the design is to have the leather portion facing the driver!
