H50-1 why 2 sets of mounting screws?

Hi, I'm looking thru the install instructions and I can't understand why theres 2 sets of mounting screws. One set has a slightly thicker thread.

The only problem I can see is that there are only 1 set of screw mount holders. So its obvious that the thicker thread can't screw in?

So why include the 2nd thicker thread mounting screws, am I missing something here?

Thanks

I think you missed my point. I'll try my best to explain it better. Im leaving the mounting brackets out of it as they're not the issue.

Each screw, screws into a metal screw mount.

There are;
4x metal screw mounts all the same size.
4x thin thread screws.
4x thick thread screws.

The thin thread screws, screw into the metal screw mounts, but the thicker ones don't and can't. There are no other metal screw mounts. All mounting brackets share the same metal screw mounts.

So in effect, the thick thread screws can't screw into anything provided.

mm indeed. I would prefer it if they included a second set of fan mounting screws instead seeing as lots of people will be adding a second fan.

I'm probably being thick here, but I didn't have nay problems here?

The thin screws are meant to hold the fan to the radiator, the thicker ones are used to screw the front half of the mounting bradcket to the rear half? (each side of the mobo)

yup:)

corsair provide you with 3x sets of screws. One fan mount set, and two bracket mount sets. However there is only one set of metal jobbies that receive the mounting screws. Therefore, what's the point in giving you two sets with different threads?

Thats exactly what I was on about :)

My fault that I forgot to mention I excluded the fan mount screws. Apologies all.

I think the 2 backplates on the H50-1 take different screws, one set for each backplate.

There were people on here having difficulties as they were using the wrong screws for the wrong backplate.

I had the H50 and there were no issues with that one.
