If you were a foreigner...

Well for a small country with bad weather we are doing well being the 6th most visited country in the world for tourism with 30million visitors a year.

What I have never fathomed out is why France is so popular. Or is it mostly because of us Brits (and the same reason Spain is third) going there because it is cheap and very close?

Americans love the place due to the romance thing and the like, its a lovely country though only one big problem, its full of the French :D Have nothing against them honest hehe....

... would you visit the UK?

Hell yes boy, I wanna see the Tower of London Town, your president’s house at the Parliament, have tea with the Queen and shop at Harrods. You English folks are so quaint and we love the way you speak. ;)

Yeah it is (having been there about a couple of dozen times), it's just it's not that special in comparison to the rest of europe for example, and their food is rubbish!

I can't see people wanting to go to anywhere but London or Edinburgh (or parts of wales/lakes/scotland for mountains, etc) really...

everywhere else is just a place to live, like everywhere... the US... only 3 places get visited really?... nyc/cali/florida

First visit yes, then you learn and realise how blinkered you have been

As a previous foreigner to the UK, yes. As a kid, it was the one place I always dreamnt of visiting because I used to love the setting for the Famous Five, Secret Seven books and also English football.

Probably not, no real culture to speak of, for architecture and history I would go elsewhere, for art I would go elsewhere and for climate I would go elsewhere.
LOL. Just, LOL.

As for OP, of course I would! I like to visit all major countries anyway, so UK would be no different.

I would want to see London. Then after that then there would be Edinburgh for new year. For scenery there would be everywhere in Scotland bar Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen. I would possibly consider North Wales and the Lake/Peak District, Cornwall/Devon. Nothing else in the UK is of merit for tourists.

You have quite a blinkered view there ;/ You know England has some cracking scenery don’t you? What you also mean is ‘(I think) Nothing else in the UK is of merit for tourists.’ That is an opinion as there is quite a lot more to see than you think.

It doesn't matter where you are from but the knowledge/experience of the places you know of / have visited.

e.g. I have been to a few places in South Wales. They weren't bad places by any stretch of the imagination but I would say there are better alternatives. e.g. Snowdon.

I would much rather go to the Republic of Ireland than Northern Ireland. But that isn't part of the UK so it isn't worth mentioning.

I've visited london, it was pretty good.
Everywhere else in the UK has been purely for something I couldn't do here, decent lans, tattoo convention, trackday, buying car, friends.

But for the country itself? Nope....nothing else that interests me, too much like here, just "bigger".
Not for the weather, or culture, or food.
