HTC Hero, coming July on Orange and T-Mobile, makes me want!

Agreed, I do like the HTC Widgets. I did suggest this on the SweeterHome forums, but didn't get a reply. I don't know how difficult it would be technically to add support for the HTC widgets, but it would indeed be awsome!

I am guessing that not many phones have SenseUI right now, so maybe it's not a priority, but there are new phones coming from HTC, so maybe we can convince the developers to support them in the future.

You could try Beautiful Widgets (also does a clock/weather like the HTC ones). Not free, but also very cheap and pretty good looking. Don't forget you have a 24 hour refund policy on the Market too, so maybe worth a try for the small amount it costs.
 
I would recommend the official HTC pouch which can be had for around a tenner to stop scratches. I can still hear it ring and vibrate so no problems there.

I use the "FlexiShield Skin" protective case (not too rubbery neither to plasticy) for mine from mobilefun, also has a generic screen protector which doesn't fit great but works (you can see the right hand edge bubbling where I had to trim it to fit).

I work on trucks so it stays in this during work hours. Slips in and out of the case very nice and the fit is spot on.

thats what i have at the moment. its great but adds a slight bulk to the phone

Just got one of these but didn't realise it would be so difficult to unlock on Orange. Is it possible to unlock it if you don't have an Orange sim? Why is the Orange firmware so crap with the problem not being addressed ie - the 'unlocking sim' bug?

What am I supposed to do to get this working with o2 and not downgrading roms?
 
Yeh its bizarre that Orange UK on the HTC Hero is the only one those sites can't unlock.

I guess you'll have to use those special SIM adaptors or pony up £20 after inserting an orange SIM.
 
See what they are going for on the bay and then check those sites like mopay and envirophone.

If there aint much in it i would leave the hasstle of ebay and go for the quick sale
 
How do Orange unlock it? Not heard good things about the Rebel sim.

There is a way to unlock it with the modaco rom, then use the unlock code but I need an orange sim in the first place don't I? Otherwise I can't actually use the phone to put it in USB mode.

Do Orange do good deals like the o2 simplicity? Really would like to avoid that if possible though.
 
Carn't you still get free sims on the orange website? If thats all you need to unlock it.

I used the Rebel sim while i was waiting for an unlock for my iPhone (Before 3.0) and i never had any problems with it

Looking on the bay around £200 seems a realistic figure for a used one on envirofone for example they seem to get £100 ish, mines in mint condition with a 8gb card so i be happy to get near 200.
