PayPal Dispute & Proof of Item Sent

Hey Guys,

I had an Item Not Received dispute opened today.

It's for an Xbox game I sold on the 28th January, and I used PayPal's online label printing.

Now with that proof in hand, what do I do now?

Do I escalate the dispute further?

Do I refund the person now?

Thanks for any help/advice.
 
File a claim with the post offfice. Contact the buyer and inform them you have and it will take up to two weeks for a refund. Then refund him.

Post what you are doing on the paypal dispute.

also note that if it was done by royal mail, then they would require a signature, and normally you can get a copy of that ;)

I have the sheet that gets printed showing the stamp of the PO & Date, I can scan this onto system, but like I said PayPal will see this as it's linked to the item being disputed?

Shouldn't I be claiming off PayPal? If so I'll have to escalate the dispute, just unsure at what point I refund the lady? :confused:

2 weeks? I was told up to 8 when I filed a claim last month...
 
Proof of Delivery is from Special or Recorded Delivery via a courier or Royal Mail. It's either RM's receipt of delivery, of gaurunteed delivery, or of a signature from the recipient.

Anything else doesn't count, i'm afraid. The label from Paypal means nothing, other than your intent to send, not that you did or didn't.
 
Generally speaking EBay/Paypal require you to send the item via a trackable delivery service.
Something along the lines of RM Special Delivery as the package can be tracked all the way.
Standard RM or Recorded usually will not be accepted as any kind of proof.

A) Sent

B) To Buyers Address

C) By 1st Class post

D) Time & Date

Did you get it stamped and signed at the Post Office?

You'll end up refunding him either way, it's very rare that PayPal will side with the seller these days
 
Without using a trackable delivery service I don't believe you are due anything back from Paypal.
You will need to contact RM.
However remember that 1st Class compensation is around £3.
 
The seller will nearly always win when a trackable service is used - I know this from the 3 disputes raised against me in my EBay time.
 
Was it sent VIA 1st class recorded? Did you get a recipt?

I wouldn't refund a penny yet, how long has it been? It might just be late. Wait intill you have made a claim with royal mail, and then wait for paypal to make you refund (They will)

The last thing you wanna do is refund the buyer and then in 2 days he gets it
 
According to Paypal's website proof of delivery is apparently only for transactions over £150.

11.9 What is “Proof of Delivery”?

Online documentation from a postal company that includes all of the following:

a. A status of “delivered” (or equivalent) and the date of delivery.

b. The recipient’s address, showing at least the city/county or postcode (or international equivalent).

c. Signature Confirmation for transactions that total 150 GBP or more (see Foreign Currency Amounts below for amounts in a currency other than Pounds Sterling).

I think they mean that if it's over £150 then it must be signed for, not that there's no need for it on stuff below that.

I almost always send stuff so that I can at least confirm when it's delivered, it doesn't cost much extra depending on what you send.
 
If you sent it 1st class recorded through the Royal Mail, then simply type the tracking number into the royal mail website and you can see if the package was delivered and you also get to see the signature of the person that signed for it.
 
It's simple. If you have your sheet stamped by the post office to say that you posted it then you claim off them. 1st class with proof of postage is £39 max so you are well covered.

Your problem is whether paypal will wait to refund him until you have your money back from the post office in 2 weeks time.

If you never got your sheet signed as proof of posting then you are stuffed.
