Can you advise what this noise might be?

Audi A4 @136K on the clock however recently over the last few thousand miles I have noticed in addtion to the clutch slipping that when I depress the accelerator and release it apart from the engine rev I can hear a sound as though something is spinning down it is a very harsh sound as though something is grating.
Is this something linked with the clutch slipping? I know the car has a duel mass flywheel and the clutch slips in 5th gear only I intend on getting it fixed but want to make sure (if possible) that the sound I am hearing at present is part and parcel and not something else I need to look at.

I would appreciate any help/feedback
:D

Loud ticking noise? Id hazzard a guess its the Dual Mass Flywheel.. My van is making the same noise and it turns out it is the flywheel. having both clutch and flywheel done today.

Thanks for the replies - It does sound like something spinning down hence my original thought of the flywheel, but what I dont understand is this happens when I depress and release the accelerator- it is magnified when I actually change gear. Hopefully by sorting replacing it will indeed resolve the problem, or I hope so at least.

Its worth pointing out as well, dont leave it too long. There have been cases on the forum I go on (T5 Transporters) that the flywheel has let go and taken the gearbox out with it! So just be a bit carefull
