Unsurprisingly a Google image search for 'croydon chavs' brings up exactly what I was picturing:
I've got to say that when was the last time you saw a Chav wearing the iconic Burberry cheque (fake or not)? The whole wearing of Burberry Caps and Jackets and the like was very early naughties'.
Personally I'd say that 'chavvy' is wearing obnoxious sportswear that isn't really proper sportswear. The kind of stuff they sell in that god awful Sports Direct shops and JD Sports etc...
That's not to say there aren't chavs who wear jeans and will try and wear anything branded which makes it expensive, whether real or not.
Inregards to Superdry. I don't think you can describe it as 'chavvy'. What it is, is 'common' because every man, regardless of age or class status seems to be wearing it. The T-shirts especially in the summer, everyone seems to be wearing them.
I do like some of Superdry's clothes. For instance I have a different colour shirt to the one in the OP, but I also have the Superdry Brad Jacket as made famous by Beckham. I love that jacket and it looks good on, but I hardly wear it anymore because of the fact that you can't go anywhere without running into somebody else also wearing one...
For example, getting on a busy tube and having to stand next to somebody wearing it... When you go into your office at work and two of your colleagues and somebody else in the building are also wearing it!
Hence.... 'common'.
I think superdry is a horrible brand. And yes it is 'chavvy'.
