Alright guys,

Going to be going down to a car dealership tomorrow. I am going to be getting a car for me and the girlfriend on finance. I have a deposit, however i have a loan in my name which i am happily and comfortably paying off. I have checked my credit score with experian and had a score of 999 - Excellent.

What is the likely hood of the finance company saying i would have too many commitments? Me and the girlfriend will be paying it off jointly but the finance is in my name only. Or will i be accepted.

The payments are only £160 a month.

Thanks.

With a credit score of 999 you shouldnt have a problem, car dealerships will have more relaxed finance requirements than say a bank, as they make more money off the sale and would lose you as a potential customer otherwise.

Can you not get a better deal with a bank loan (maybe renegotiate/extend your existing one)? Car finance is generally a rip off.

In my experience, car finance is generally cheaper these days as;

a.) Dealerships are desperate to sell their cars
b.) The loan is secured against the car so they have some collateral

Well it's 5.9% and the dealership make 1k from us at the end. For that price ts defo worth the £35 a year tax and 3 year warranty. £160 a month for 3 years.

When he's 30 odd he'll look back and wish he'd listened. :D

It's not until that age you realise Tyler Durden was right, with his epic quote..

I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very ****ed off.

its £9k new. You might say lol, however its what me and my girlfriend want for driving around town in etc. Its cheap and no maintenence. I have a weekend toy so im happy and i am happy to say i was accepted and will be getting the vehicle late march. If everyone was of the same opinion then wouldnt the world be a very boring place?!?
