My guild last night did really well ( for us anyway ) we cleared up to Putricide on 10 man in 2 hours and had some really good attempts on him but we didnt manage to kill him in the time we had left. His voice is hillarious!

I was really fed up last night with raiding - my guild has so many people that we often run 3-4 ICC25, and have one "pro" group and then the rest is either alt groups or reserves etc, but they are decent players just not hard mode players etc.
Anyhow last week we cleared upto Sindragosa so most people wanted the pro group to just smash through it and clear upto LK so we can get trying to kill him, which the pro group should be able to. However the GM insisted we start the meta achievements, with the reserves and swapped out for loot and only did 1 x ICC25. It took all night to kill upto and including Putricide, including tons of wipes, and 2 hrs on full house. When we "did" full house and killed Deathwhisper, someone had picked the wrong add so we didn't even get the achievement! Anyone else in a guild like this, loads of good players but then you have to include the casuals etc?
I'm debating thinking of joining a guild like that Rising Sun - seems from the roster few raiders who all know what is going on. Anyone need a pro shadow priest?

hmmm will ICC last until Cata? Blizzard have already said they don't want to release additional content after the Lich King like they had to do after people killed Illidan so fast.
Paragon have already cleared 9/12 on ICC Heroic.
If Cata isn't out for nearly a year a lot of people are going to get bored.

I feel for you man. It doesn't make sense but it isn't your guild to run so the jest of it is, if you arn't happy its time to look elsewhere.
I agree with all your comments mind, my mates guild had problems on Sindragosa and only just got her last night. They normally use there alt players (officers/GM etc) to go through ICC first to learn the encounter but for some reason they just tried to plow through the higher bosses in ICC and soon found them out of attempts.
Some choices people make can be a bit strange but I suppose they probably think the same about other peoples choice.
Monster, we currently have one really pro and active SP, but another will never hurt and fighting over spots is never a problem. Apply on our website and say you know Dappy.
hopefully we'll get it LK down in our 20 tries this week. Got last part for our Palla to start collecting shards for Shadowmourne tonight to do. All in all, everythings looking good really really can't wait for hardmodes sooo badly.

ctivision Blizzard Q4 2009 Results
Activision published their results for the Fourth Quarter of 2009 and released a handful of information, nothing really new here but it's worth a recap.
* Cataclysm will be released in 2010.
* Starcraft 2 will be released in 2010, the beta starts in February.
* The slides mention "value added services" a couple of times, it is most likely linked to Bornakk's post hinting at a "premium" service for the Auction House available from web.
* World of Warcraft still has 11.5m subscribers, it didn't change much since last year's announcement.
Looks like we won't be waiting too long.

But still, the potential of ICC 25 hard mode being on farm for 5-6 months for some guilds must be a little poo.
Stick a 40 man version in, that would soon screw over the stupidly well tuned 25 man teams in the world top 10 guilds

Thats incredibly tempting to be honest, however our GM seems to have seen the light today and has said he wants some progress firstly now, I think he thought the reserves/alts/casuals were better than they really are!

Grats on the kill mate, well done, how hard did you find it overall? Much harder than the other bosses?
Our GM seems to be realising that some of our "raider" rank are really crap and need to be demoted so hopefully things will improve more. We had 1 pally healer on Sindragosa who died to every blistering cold nearly every attempt, and if he got ressed, then died to unchained magic stacks etc, absolutely no clue! Should get it down on Sunday and start trying the LK.

its not a hard fight its down to pure execution and people knowing there class 120% (which should be a normal thing anyway) and it requires quiet a lot of coordination and communication! phase 2 is all about positioning and personal reaction time! if 1 person isnt in the right place its pretty much a death to the person or if someone doesnt know wot to do with defile its pretty much a whole raid wipe!

Well it was a **** night for us. Didn't have enough healers online for anything fun.. so we went to ulduar.
Hoping to finish our 4th mace. Needing 3 fragements. and we got 1! and that was from yogg! what a joke really really is. Looks like were going back again next week to finish. And sunday night for LK.

Possibly worth joining The Unit on Karazhan. I'm not actually on the server myself yet but there seems to be a few new rollers there who are working up to 80 at the moment so it might be the community your looking for.
Where is it like a ghosttown?
You'll probably find that, like most servers, there's hardly anybody in the old Azeroth or Outland. Having had 4 years off, i can assume you're not in Northrend, which is where everybody is.
It's the posts above that make me realise there is a gaping chasm between casual players and career players.
I've been playing for maybe 6 months, but 1 or 2 times a week max. I've got a dozen characters in total with a maximum level of 70.
I don't understand the vast majority of the above posts, which echoes the online chat in cities. I'm not sure if I'm missing out, or retaining my grip on reality!

Same here - I'm a casual player who logs on a few times a week if work is quiet for a dash of fantasy escapism. (edit- and no that doesn't mean RP )
I'm not sure if all of the above would make any sense to me if I'd have been playing more for many years, but there seems to be a lot of grief, hassle and commitment required to be playing much of the 'end game' content ?
I could just be oblivious to it all of course, but hey, we'll see in time I'm sure
