If the man who attacked Mr Barker was inside for GBH or something against your son, would you still laud him as a hero?

I think your all alone there mate...[/QUOTE]
Apparently not.
he got the worst punishment he could an indeterminate sentence.
And the minimum tariff? Which is the only thing that matters since due to prison overcrowding it appears that this is the actual sentence they will serve.
Rape of a child under 13 carries a maximum sentence of life in prison
Causing or allowing the death of a child carries a maximum sentence of 14 years in jail, or a fine, or both
However, in cases where offenders are considered to pose a risk to the public, the judge can impose an indeterminate sentence
In passing this sentence, the judge will recommend a minimum term to be served before the offender can be considered for release.
Only after this time can the Parole Board consider whether the offender no longer poses a threat to the public and so is suitable for release
I love how other inmates take the moral high ground in these cases. some of them are also in for pretty horrific crimes, but think they've got the right to dish out justice over and above that decided on by the legal process - run and paid for by people who work and pay tax, unlike prisoner scum.

not for indeterminate sentencing. it is lesser crimes where they are allowed out early.
As for the minimum tariff,
So he got a very "harsh" sentence, compared to what the judge can allow.

scalded as boiling water is thrown over him by another inmate
GOOD
wonder who will finsh him off![]()
He'll be out in 12, mark my words.
I dont see anyone for the statement...all are against?
What with 612 people against it now
Why, you got any statistical evidence for all these serious criminals that get let out 1 day after minimum term.
The government has paid £5.5m to prisoners released early, in part to compensate them for the cost of bed and board during the period in which they would have been incarcerated.
Even criminals have some standards.
I hope they break his ****ing legs.
I wouldn't say this is justified but then again the sick ******* sure as hell deserves it.
So you agree that his punishment should have been much, much harsher than it was due to the disgusting nature of what he did?
