Full of hobbits, diddicoys, Poles and possibly the best roads south of Scotland.

"The roads that criss-cross North Wales are the benchmark against which all others must be judged. When you want definitive answers to the big questions, there's nowhere better to seek them."

-------------------------

"The venue, as is so often the case when we've got a really special collection of cars to test, is north Wales. Regular readers will be well aware of our predilection for the roads around Denbigh and Betws-y-coed, but for those newcomers amongst you, we return time and again because it is home to the most exciting, most challenging, and most lightly trafficked roads in Britain."

-------------------------

"As you'd expect with the playing field skewed so crazily out of kilter, we're resorting to the greatest leveller we know: the magnificent roads of north Wales. Yes, I know we're always banging on about the hidden joys of the sun-forsaken principality, but it's impossible to over-stress just how good its roads are. With so little traffic and such a diversity of surface, corner and camber, you can test every facet of a car's dynamic abilities. That the country is also breathtakingly beautiful is a fortuitous bonus for our stressed-out snappers. Quite simply, there's no finer stage on which to play out this four-way drama."

I drive them all the time. Going out in a sec, check your email tomorrow. Not posting them as requested.

From the Valleys Init!

Look you now! :p

Rather embarassingly I have yet to drive the roads of North Wales.. despite only living a few miles from Wrexham :o

Oh please please please copy me in on that email. I'd love to drive those roads. :D

I've had great fun driving roads in south Wales, but if north roads are even better. I gotta check that out.

I wonder what brought this thread on :p

They do look like some fantastic roads but I haven't driven them so all I can do is say how good Northern England is :D

That's just one of the roads.

You still have the A169 (Pickering to Whitby), Helmsley Road and Hartside Pass.

Take the bike up there all the time, but be warned the Police helicopter also patrols those roads and I have seen them land in a field to "pull" speeders a couple of times.

I offered last time I went but nobody fancied it!

Not quite as glam, old Rover in November rain, but it was fun!

I'm in the process of moving to a new house just outside of Denbigh so I would be pretty interested to know where these roads are! I've found some good ones but I've not come across these yet.

I've driven some of the roads pictured, absolutely sublime around there. Watch out for every single dirty trick in the book to catch you speeding though - bikes in hedges with lasers, helicopters, planes etc etc.

Those roads do look awesome.

Fett - how do you find driving on those roads with your GTR? Do you generally know where the police hotspots are, or are the roads so twisty that you can have fun on them at sensible speeds in it?
