Your greatest ever mod?

FMIC with subtle hoses.

Ive done sweet nothing to the Megane apart from a panel filter so thats rather boring. The only interesting mod I have done in the past was facelifting the frontend of my old Renault 19. Out with the old bonnet, headlights and grill and in with the newer. Ive got some pictures laying around somwhere, novelty wore off after a month or so and I wished I hadn't done it. It looked better but I had ruined a tidy and rather rare car.

Cutting the speaker holes in my doors out so i could fit 5.25" drivers in, to replace the 4" coaxes in the front of the car. The components sound much much better than the coaxes i had before now :)

Call me boring but I think the best mod is to sell up and replace with something which has the "mod" as standard

After i spent so much on mods years ago, i have always said to anyone, just but a better car!

To mod any car is a unknown, you could make a 300BHP focus ST or just buy a better model like the RS, I know prefer the standard package, better reliability, easier insurance etc.

What was it?

I've had lots of big smile moments after doing various mods - strangely enough I think one of the biggest smile moments was fitting a £20 grainger valve to an 03 Impreza WRX - 40 bhp gain in 20 minutes flat and the car sprang to life, different animal. Had lots of fun messing with various other cars too, but that up the boost moment on the WRX was truly magical.

iv done quite a few seriously effective mods to my golf (proper suspension proper 6 pot brakes much much better 4wd controller etc) but by the FAR the best has to be the addition of a secondary air pump powers gone from 240 hp to 450 hp+ itd be even better if it hadnt siezed :D waiting for a new 1 then get a smaller pulley and remap and maybe crack 500 frustrated ponies

My best mod has to be the power FC with commander

The car ran better, responded better and felt like it had an extra 30bhp just by plugging it in. Obviously it needs mapping to get the most out of it.

I lowered my Astra G. It looked much improved and handled so much better, stuck like brown stuff to a blanket so you could really give it some abuse. They were not particularly expensive springs either so was quite impressed with them given the money.

back in the early 80`s, tuning my Suzuki 100cc road bike
did 60mph when got it, did 75 when i sold it and it was all my own work with the tuning files.
best fun tuning mod was making my suzuki 250x7 go from 100mph to 115
again all my own work with the tuning files(that thing would be on 1 wheel till you hit 3rd gear)
i loved the 70`s n 80`s twostrokes, i got good at tuning them if i do say so myself lol

Removed the silly small factory intercooler from my Cavalier Turbo and replacing it with a custom built front mounted intercooler that actually got airflow....

Instant 45-ish BHP and better response :)

Fitting it was fun as, at that time, there wasn't such a thing as a front mounted intercooler for this car so it was trial and error all the way :D

It even looked like a factory fit at the end it was so subtle from the outside.

Can't decide, all of those made night&day differences to the different aspects of the car.
