Reallty stuck from reviews etc. Not sure wether to stick with my Crossfire 5770 or go to single 5850. Not seen the results I was hoping for. Only getting 36fps on Dirt 2 with ultra settings on 1900x1200 monitor. Would a single 5850 be better.

5850 would get my money.

5770s in X-fire tend to have a low minimum FPS which is the most noticeable figure when it comes to what you see on screen.

I think one card is always prefrable over two. 2x5770's would still be nice but you'd consume more power, create more heat and it's usually game dependant as to how well xFire preforms.

I'm in the same boat, go 5770cf or go 5850. If you didn't already have the 2 5770's the 5850 would be the obvious choice, but seeing as they're already in your case you may as well keep them for a while to make the hassle of selling them worthwhile.

stick with the crossfired 5770's unless you go for the 5870/5970 tbh , not much needs that much power atm . i am running crossfired 5770's and am loving it , no low fps with my setup lol . i may go for a single card when the next series are out

thanks for links - looking to get a 2nd 5770 or upgrade, will xfire now I think though need to check on is a couple games are supported.

I think moving from cf5770 to a single 5850 is a waste of time and will actually be slower. The dirt2 performance roundup shows the 5850 has a lower minimum frame rate than the crossfired 5770's unless you game at 2560x1600, in which case neither solution would be ideal.

If you have already got them then just stick with them. Pointless going through all the hassle of selling them and then buying the new one.

Well I just deleted all Catalyst programs and ran drive cleaner and installed 1 5770 and benchmarked Dirt 2 and then Crossfire and the crossfire comes out lower with micro stutter. I have tried every driver around and am now definately going with the 1 5850 which I can crossfire at a later date. I dont know if its because I am running a Saphire and a XFX but was told by Oc this was fine. Its not. I have already pre sold 1 5770 and the other is on a famous auction site, so I wont lose out.

did you see the benchmark reviews i posted above? you should have much more fps with that set up, id see if you can find a problem before you sell them and get them returned with negative feedback :/
