No offence taken. You are, of course, welcome to judge me for normally saying I'm Scottish before I'd say I'm British but I don't know if the judgement would reveal anything particularly useful about me.
The reason I say that nationality isn't a good measure to judge by is that it doesn't tell you much about the person unless you believe stereotypes are a good guideline - I've got some great mates from a number of nations but that doesn't meant that I'll get on with other people from the same nation so I tend to discount it except when I'm taking the mickey out of my mates.
