Uninsured car?

Whatever - it doesnt matter, does it? If ASKMID is wrong then great, its insured! And the guy is 100% in the right and nothing will come of anything.

If ASKMID is right though, which it is many times more often than its not, then the guy is a scumbag and shouldnt be on the roads. Quite why this appears to be the subject of dispute is beyond me. Whats the confusion?

Do you live in a dreamland or something? £2000 insurance at 18 on an Impreza Turbo would be considered an astonishingly good deal.

No, I live in the world where some people actually phone around and HUNT for insurance, rather than popping their details into confused.com and thinking that the lowest premium that comes back is the cheapest price you'll ever get like which most people these days seem to think.

I've got several quotes around the £2,000 mark for similar (arguably quicker) cars at a similar sort of age in the one of the highest risk postcodes imaginable. I'd be surprised if somebody could not get one for a Impreza if they tried.

A young age is not a valid excuse to get the car you want.

And had they tried it'd probably show up on the ASKMID database once the policy was complete and the car was on the drive ;)

I knew I should have had that M5 at 17.

If you're worried about being done for obtaining insurance information illegally then inform the authorities anonymously. Personally I strongly believe you should, because people like those who drive uninsured Imprezas are why I'm paying two to three more times the amount my parents are, even though I consider myself to be a safer driver and have taken far more exhaustive driving and safety lessons.

Do your bit and keep insurance premiums down. Do you really want to stand for little chav twerps like that not paying a dime while you work hard so you do?

A young age is not a valid excuse to get the car you want.

Of course it is. Don't be so naive. If young people get good motors, it's because they work hard for them, or refuse to pay MOT/Tax/Insurance.

I agree with Knives. If he's actually insured, no further action will be taken and nothing will come of it. Stuff will only happen if he has no insurance and who in this thread can dispute something should be done if he actually does have NO insurance?

Uninsured drivers cost us all money in higher premiums and could cost us all dearly if we are ever involved in an accident with one. We SHOULD care.

I do care, thats why I pay my taxes and hope that police deal with the matter.

So you want people to stereotype those in their streets vigilante style and askMID accordingly?

That is not what the website was intended for.

Its not, your typing about something away from the main stream of the thread.. if he isn't insured that is fine. Scumbags away.

Other than that nothing can be proved, so this is pointless.

He's hardly out there with a baseball bat disabling the car for the greater good is he?

No, your missing the point and being the usual pendant.

You think he is really out there doing well for the greater good, him asking MID everytime something pulls up outside his window he doesn't like the look of?

Sad **** comes to mind.

I see lots of young guys around here in cars I would have thought they looked a bit young to own, or whatever.. I don't jot the reg down and run home to the net. I hope the police do their job.

I think it's you missing the point. He's hardly walking around the estate jotting down plates and doing checks. He's had dodgey looking Impreza dressed as an Turbo parked outside his house near his new ST. I'd of been just of cautious.

Oh god a dodgy car near his, shock horror. Dozons probably pass him on the road every day.

There is cautious, which is watching the guy doesn't prang your car.. and investigating on the internet and phoning the police because the records you can access have an anomaly.

Although if this is the crack you guys feel more than free to continue on with the stereotyping.

:)

Jot the reg down and run home? He looked out his window and tapped it in, it took what 10 seconds?

Less time than you've spent in this thread telling him he is sad?

ROFL, Lauren commented that it was out there again, and seeing as we live in a smallish village and know most people around us, a new car like this parking outside regularly sticks out like a sore thumb. Given that it looks like a dog, is chavved up and is clearly a non-turbo dressed as an STI, gave me enough reason to be suspicious of it - even more so when he's parked inches from the £14,000 car I've just bought only weeks ago.

But like Fox says (and I almost never agree with him :D ), it took me about 10 seconds that I would have otherwise spent picking my nose or scratching my balls - I'd hardly call it sad.

MikeHiow just report it, you've got to act in your best interests.

He may never hit you, but if he does and it turns out he's not insured you'll kick yourself.

If he is insured, well no problem is there. If he isnt one less scummy uninsured driver of our roads!
