Got pulled and then let go

pro driver or you drive a 172. nothing can keep up with a 172 in the twisties

if youre planning to lose them but not bother to downchange at all, youre best off in a diesel (crushing in gear acceleration and all)
You'll also lose them with your smoke screen!

I'm shocked no-one has done a wordplay on the ops choice for thread name.

I've been pulled over several times in my early driving days, being nice to the policeman goes a long long way.

4 years ago when I lived in Blackpool, I was doing 60+ in a 40 limit area at just gone midnight. Suddenly it all went blue and flashy!

The guy came over and said "don't worry, I'm not going to do you. I'd do exactly the same if I had one of these cars". (single turbo r33 Skyline). He told me to calm it down a bit, gave me a producer and let me go. Top police officer :)

the road in question for anyone who knows it is the dead straight road from Pontins towards Lytham St Annes. You could probabll go awhole heap quicker than I was up there quite safely.

I got pulled over once on Xmas eve for suspiciously exiting an empty industrial estate at 11pm - I told them I was taking pictures and gave them my card and exchanged seasons greetings and that was it - Nice xD

I got pulled a few months back, when I was in the lolvo. Was crusing down the bedford bypass at a fair old speed, certainly a little too quickly.

I saw an older gen Vectra pull out into my lane and stay a while back. I looked at it for a while and just as I thought 'hmm, surely they wouldn't have an unmarked car that old' the blue lights came from under the grill.

He sped up, I pulled in and he overtook me, and of course even though there was no chance I hoped he was going for someone else. It said 'follow me' in the back window, so I did.

Sat in the back of his car, ran through the usual insurance/license stuff. Most amusing part was when he said (in a surprised tone) 'oh, it's insured, that's a good sign'. I was a little offended, then remembered I was in my temp wheels; a banged up £150 volvo. The insurance cost more than 2x the car.

He explained he had a calibrated speedo, and a camera. He said he had to do 95+ to keep up with me.

Fortunately he let me off with a warning as I have no previous encounters with the police. Very scary, perfectly justified, and had the desired effect; made me consider if I was actually gaining anything by traveling that speed (I wasn't). I've got no issue being stopped by a police officer, it's only the stupid cameras and such . . .

is that when you got your GTA5 photo?

This one time, the rozzers pulled me over even though I wasn't doing anything wrong. I wasnt even in a car at the time come to think of it. One of them poked me in the eye while the other urinated on my bonnet. Then they walked off calling me racist names, which is odd because I'm white. They're all the same these pigs.

Sorry, I came over all Asim there and appear to have said something that's completely untrue.

In all seriousness, never had a problem, they're human beings at the end of the day and it's unfair to judge people based on occupation. I've met plenty of ladyparts in my time but dont assume that everyone in their occupation is the same

Last time i got pulled over was traffic police and the reason ?
lol just wanted to know why i had killed a busa :p
when im out just for a fun ride i leave my wheelchair at home and remove the chair rack on the back

he was why the hell would you kill a bike lol then he realized i was disabled :o
ended up chating for half hour [ he was a biker ] wasnt a bad bloke :)

It's an idiot test. If you boot it away then you fail.

The only idiot I can see in such a situation is the Police officer that thinks it is clever to purposely tailgate the car in front.

And people wonder why there is so much 'hate' towards the police when they employ such tactics to catch people out .

In general I have only had good experiences with our traffic police.

Though for the normal police they accused me of trying to out run them and "they had units closing in form every direction if I was going to make a run for it" because after they put there lights on I slowed down, put on my hazards and carried on about 20seconds up the dual carriageway (clearway) till I could come off at the circle and not cause any problems. Luckily there was a young copper with the grumpy old bugger who kept everything in check.

Traffic cops:

Got pulled tones of times when I used to just drive about at night/early morning. They were honest about just stopping me to check if I had nicked the car. Quick check and on my way.

Been pulled while letting the GF have a drive on a private farm track. They knew it was all in my name before we even opened the window, so just had a chat with me to make sure all was ok and carry on as before. (the gf did stall under the pressure of a police car pulling up behind us)

Been warned by undercover giving a quick flash of there lights when I was on my bike. They were being quite indecisive about lane choice coming off lights and upto circle, so when I wound it up to slip past them they stuck the rear blues on. I slammed on the breaks, they were happy and carried on a bit more decisively.

Had a good chat with the traffic guys when I stuck a car in a ditch. Just chatting about cars for an hr till they could stop the traffic to let my car get pulled out. Breath test and on my way.

I've been pulled twice for a breath test. Trust them to pick the only 2 times I've driven sober, let alone below the limit.

Seriously though - just those two times, both around Christmas a couple of years ago. Never before or since for any reason at all.

Got pulled a few months back, 2am straight long road, possibly 30 or 40 limit, I must have been doing about 60-ish, was an astra that pulled me, and they were pretty far behind me as far as I could tell, so I think that's what saved me, lol. Just asked my name, etc. asked if I'd been drinking, said i'd just been on cokes all night, didn't get breath tested, just told to curtail my speed, and that was it, no points or fine.

The times that I've been randomly pulled over have always ended with a rather strange explanation "We heard reports of an explosion in the area" was one of the best!

i got pulled on friday too. no issues to report. he looked over the car, laughed at the interior, commented on how good ADCD is, got another call and had to fly off in the opposite direction

another non story

wheres PM Keates, he likes to bait the police
