Just a mention for you people who like to print lots of pic's , i managed to pick up a Copal 1500 Dyesub printer with over 1.5 rolls of paper and ribbons for less than 300 sheets which is a steal and the print quality is superb, and after looking around further i have seen that there are a lot of Olmec DP800 printers for sale on the net for very low prices.

so if your serious about printing especially in volume this may be an option for you.

Hope i have not infringed any forum rules by mentions other products.

Isn't it cheaper to send your pictures to a professional printers?

I've been under the impression that per print costs were way more expensive if you bought your own printer, photo paper and cartridges...

Feel free to prove me wrong though!

The consumables workout at 84.00 for 1000 pic's plus its the convenience of being able to print straight away as well as colour match your own photo's. :)

Cheaper and better, you cant beat proper chemical process with any home printer, inkjet/dyesub or other.

True but these units are well over a grand to buy normally and do give a very good print quality and hardly what i'd call a home printer.

Would be interested to hear more about where you found your dye sub printer and where you've seen others on sale at good prices?

Email in trust if you'd prefer.

Cheers.

no great secret really i got from the internets junk site ebay, the other models i've seen are the Olmec DP800 and the Olmec DP600.

The DP600 you can get for less than a ton because there are no consumables available for it , but i have been told that is gonna change in march so it could be a potential good purchase and i've seen the DP800 less than 300 sheets.

A OP800 for less than 300 would be quite a thing. If I could find one. This is a 8x12 dye sub printer with full bleed. Best price I've seen is ~£850

looking more completed listings for less than £200 but 'refurbed' and no ink.
