Fiber Optic vs Copper ? why am i getting 16+meg with Copper.

Today i for some reason was speeded up from 6.99meg speeds on speedtest.net
to 16+ speeds LOL

and im on a BT phone line ????? i thought these types of speeds where only with fiber.

how is that possible im getting twice the speed i was getting with virgin media 8meg bb. ?

I think the reason is becuse im on ADSL2+ now from ADSL as with ADSL2+ you dont get 8meg capped.

only reasonable explanation i can think of lol

Local Loop Unbundling, the process that allows TalkTalk (and anyone else) to install their own kit in your exchange and offer you ADSL2+.

my modems limited to 20mbit config..... 25mbit is impossible

cant see that i just run a few tests from various sites and all report around the same speed. lol

hopefully i will get even faster speeds as im going to get talktalk to enable speedboost aswell as low ping mode enabled.

will report back if speed changes ...

Talktalk have now upped my Profile and Disabled Interleaving and put me onto Quick Path aswell as upping my download and upload speed..

here are the results

I am very impressed considering this is all on Copper Cables.
