Hey guys

I just got an IPod touch and it's picked up my network at home, it's asked me for the password so I've put in the password which is the 'network key' on my sky card.

Says the password is wrong!

What to do

Double check the upper/lower case and try 0 as O and O as 0.
Fail? Give Sky a ring and request help!
Sure no-one has reset the WEP/WPA key?

Have you tried the password on the bottom of the sky router.

If it still doesn't work log in to the router from your pc and check the network key.

Yes I tried the password on the bottom of the router

I'm not sure if it's a 0 or an o but i tried both and still no luck :o

Guess I should ring sky?

I'm sorry but you'll have to be more newbie friendly to me. I am reasonably good with PC's but I'm horrific with networks. I understand WEP is a form of security right? How would i go about finding this information out? I am browsing my connection from my mac with airport.

Model of router is a Netgear

Okay, head over to http://192.168.0.1

Username: admin
Password: Password

Click on "Wireless Settings"

Then you should be able to check to see if its a WPA or WEP encrypted password ( just different levels of security) and also what the actual password is.

Make sure it is all in capitals also from experience with these routers it shows up with a wrong password message when you are to far from the router even if it shows up in the networks, try entering the password while you are next to the router, also try going to setting, then to General, then scroll to the bottom and go into Reset and the go to reset network settings. After reboot try entering your password again.

As in i enter password for my password or my actual password?

I just tried both and no luck :\

With regards to standing close that didn't help either.

Anyone know how to get capitals up on an IPod Touch?

"admin" + "password" (might be lower case) are the default login details for most Netgear routers... Unless you've changed.

BTW: I mean, do this on your mac, which is already connected to the wireless network.

Shift key on iPod is highlighted here;

Thanks so much n1blo, the ipod makes it really confusing because the keyboard is all in upper case :\

Thanks SO much

ah I see what you mean, like the actual keyboard showing either lower-case or upper, never-mind, all sorted now woo!
