Ati 3870x2
PSU Antec Neo HE 550
X-Fi Xtreme music

I am looking to upgrade to

I game @ 1920 x 1200.
I am into flight and racing sims, Rfactor, GTRevo, Microsoft flight sim x, Lock on, Black shark and others....

But want to be able to play nicely most games coming out, AvP, Bioshock 2....

Would above bits cut it nicely, or only just?

Or , do i just get ati 5850 and stick with setup i already have?

If you have the money, go for it, but the 5850 with your current rig will be enough.

Vekiq, I came from an e8400@4Ghz and tbh hardly noticed a difference going to the i7@4Ghz. Save your pennies & just go for a juicy gfx card update

I agree...just upgrade to HD5850 it would have enough horse power for games for quite a while.

On the side note, think you got the wrong RAM in your wish list. Tri-channel is for Core i7, not Core i5. If you really doing a full upgrade to Core i5 750, you should be getting 4GB 1,600MHz Dual-channel ram instead of the 6GB 1,333MHz Tri-channel ram.

Also, have you checked if the 2nd PCI-E slot would not drop to as low 4 lanes when put in two graphic cards and crossfire? Cause most of the 1156 boards does that and although it support crossfire on paper, the 2nd PCI-E slot's 4 lanes ain't got enough power to run a graphic card.
