with the launch of fermi not too far away, at what point do you think would be the best time to sell my evga295 ?, i dont want to keep it so im going to loose a great deal of money. i see that 5970 and 5870 are back in plentyfull stock and im getting twitchy

I just bought 2 GTX 280s (second hand). It's a gamble but I think they will hold their value up to about a week or two after the release of Fermi. There are always people who pay well over the odds on the auction site! :p

Id say you'd be struggling to get £300 for that card now, especially with 5870's more readily available. The bay maybe but i doubt anyone on members market will cough up £300 for whats now considered an "old tech" card.

Defo Sell!!

Bought my GTX295 in Feb 09 for £400 and got £335 for it in January 2010 on a well known auction site! :D

Depreciation drop of £65 aint bad after a year. :)

Why leave yourself without a card for what could be months for the top end Fermi card? My advice is don't panic sell, the general public that use Ebay and wont even know what a fermi will lap it up for a good price still. I did the same a few weeks into the GTX280 launch and got most of my money back for my 'old' 8800 Ultra.
