The *Official* Eve Online Thread

I've got all the support skills for caps just never bothered with the actual capship/dread/carrier skills. 2x chars with 2 caps each and your talking 3+ bil just for the skills then another 4+bil for the caps themselves. My alliance sells cheap caps, maybe if they discount the skills as well I'd get round to training them.

Until then I'll spend my money on more fun things like my Vindi, really want some FOTM dramiels and cynabals to play around in too :)

The field cap ships in obscene numbers all the time, because they know we can't put down a similar sized cap fleet to take them on, and cap battles come purely down to numbers.

As for smaller fleets going on grid with them, they didn't care about us and kept focusing fire on the SBU. Capitals usually pose very little threat to smaller ships, cruisers will take ages to lock onto you because of their signature radius, and dreadnoughts struggle to hit anything that's smaller than another capital and moving.

And as for titans, they can only really kill one ship every three minutes now, and wont get involved an anything other than a cap fight, so that's pointless..

But most cap fleets have support fleets to keep smaller ships off their cap fleet, and a bunch of snipers warping in 150km from the main blob can pick off these smaller ships and warp out, they just need to make sure any interceptors/interdictors don't get too close. It's all about tactics.

When you are capturing multiple systems a day there is no time to mess about.

Seriosuly killing all these TCUs is boring, that is why we bring so manydreads, not seen that many Titans though personally as they can't shoot structures with the super weapon. They are for big battles and jump bridges.

I'm pretty sure the new doomsdays released in dominion can shoot structures now...

And you can't take several systems a day, you have to online SBU's, that takes 24hrs, then you have to put the TCU into reinforcement, that takes a few hours then its reinforced for another 24 hours, then you have to take it down properly, so thats two days with no resistance... And heaven forbid they have an infrastructure hub / station / cynojammers :o And then you have to anchor your own tcu which takes ages as well...

No1 takes multiple systems in one day any more... Multiple systems simaltaniously over 3 days is possible but a stretch for even the biggest alliances...

I've only done the sisters of eve arc, and some other level 1 missions.
Flying a catalyst.

If you've done the Sisters of Eve arc (and could beat Dagan on your own) then I wouldn't be too worried about the a few cruisers and frigates. If you are then once they lock on to you just align to a planet or stargate and be ready to warp out before your armour is gone.
