Tattoo prices.....

That tattoo photo has been knocking around for ages.

It'd cost you a bomb, quite simply.

When I had a large piece done on my back (14 inches at its widest point) I did all the artwork myself and was told this saved me a fair whack, and then gave it to the tattooist and it took 6.5hours and cost £350.

Basically if you gave him that image he'd need to trace it and expand it to scale to match the size of you/how big you want and also think of a design for the back/how to end the design as it goes around your torso.

It'd cost you an absolute fortune, would take several sittings and if you are 'just thinking' about getting a tattoo I wouldn't do it. A large piece like that is something you would have been considering for quite some time.

Normally I'm one for "its your body if you want it go for it" but that tatt is a bit extreme tbh :)

From people that I've talked to about tattoo's they charge per hour £80 onwards (in my local area)

That's not real that's for sure. But when you say design do you just mean tribal or the placement as well? Only that covers half his front and probably half his back. That's going to be expensive that's for sure.

As for your first tattoo... even after I have had one, I still don't think I would get something that big for my first.

Any ideas or links to images for smaller tatoo's which are the same kinda idea? 1 on my top arm maybe covering a little bit ov shoulder or sumin, thanks

That will easily cost more than £300 ... besides you should'nt be thinking, you should know whether or not if you want one and then be asking this question

Well it's tribal... so anywhere. Just walk into a tattoo parlour and they will have these designs. Same boring crap that all 18 year old guys get. No offence.

No need to get all high horseyfied over it, if thats what he wants thats what he wants :) - Who are you to say he should'nt get it because a load of 18 year olds have it. a lot of people could say that about my tribal piece, or any tribal piece infact, but I've never regretted mine, still love it to this day, had it 2 years now I think :cool::D

But you are right, go into any well respected tattoo parlour and they'll have books of designs for what you want :)

I never said he shouldn't get it. I don't think I have ever said any ones tattoo sucks. I just implied that it wasn't something I like. I could get into the whole "I think a tattoo should say something about a person/mean something etc" debate but I don't.

Ha, you want a generic Tribal tattoo you've seen in some random picture on the net. I bet you didn't even give it the one-year test either.

You're not even trying to be unique. It's so dull, and tired. Use your imagination.

Why does it have to be unique? Why is him not liking it enough?

Edit - Although OP do you have the same physique as the guy in the picture? As i cant help but feel if you do not it wont look anywhere as good.
