hi guys, as title really; i've been trying all night to get tri-fire working, but no dice. when i stuck the 5970 in on it's own, it worked fine, but for some reason with the 5870 in as well games only use 1 gpu..

using the latest cats (10.1) off the ati website, and crossfirex is enabled.

any ideas?

cheers

i have nil experience with tri/crossfire. But logic would tell me if the component is not struggling perhaps there is no need for 2nd/3rd card to run especially if the 5970 is the 1 thats running.

have you tried running furmark to see if all 3 kick in?

i know this may seem dum and that you may have already tried it

is catalyst a.i. enabled? and do you use fullscreen on your games.. if youre setting the games in windowed mode you'll only be using one gpu, and thats even with catalyst ai enabled.

i haven't tried furmark, but from experience, they won't 'kick in' as such, they either all run or 1 runs.

Yes, does the display matter?

eh?

a.i is enabled, and yes i run full screen. i've tried reinstalling drivers, using hotfix etc, but nothing seems to work.

another weird thing i've noticed is that by default, each gpu will clock differently at idle; gpu1 157, gpu2 400, gpu3 300 - i find this quite baffling!

cheers
