I miss ABIT.

Abit Fatal1ty Fp-In9 Sli had to be one of the worst boards I've ever had in my life, so on that I can understand why they're no longer with us.
tbh I don't think that there was a good 650i SLI mobo.
same as imo the other candidate for worst abit mobo was the F-I90HD where again I lay the blame at the door of the chipset. Not really surprising to me that only 1 other mobo afaik was made using that chipset.

1st mobo i ever bought was an abit (old socket A, can't remember model number); cracking board which i ruined doing a bios update... shame...

(2002) Abit KR7A-RAID - Skt A
(2003) Abit NF7-S - Skt A
(2004) Abit AV8-3rd Eye - S939
(2007) Abit IN9 32X-MAX Wi-Fi - S775
(2007) Abit AB9 Quad GT - S775
(2007) Abit IP35 Pro - S775

:)

KT7A all the way mofos.

I am still running my KT7A, there's nothing 'in the past' about that board! However i am building a new computer after having it for the best part of what, 7years? Can't remember when it came out.

My i7 920 with SSD and 6gb of tri channel ram is going to feel rather sweet.

7 years, try over 10 mate! :)

Back in the day I used mine with one of the famous AXIA chips that gave a very reasonable 40%+ overlock with ease.

oh that is a long time. maybe i had the follow up to it, im sure it was KT7, i have a northwood chip on it, p42.4 HT.

I dont feel so bad for upgrading now tho, a 10yr life span is about 20 generations in computer lives!

Had few myself, currently running IX38 Quad board. Great board, overclocks just fine.

If they had time to develop BIOS further it would have been even better.

I am surprised nobody bought mobo side of Abit business

I've had about 10 Abit motherboards over the years, loved every last one of them, my current setup IX38 Quad GT, Q6600 * 3.4Ghz, 8Gb PC8500 and 2x 4890 in CF is still doing me proud. Fav abit board was my first (BP6), it overclocked like a mofo!

Always loved my Abit boards from the old days of the BX6-BE7 running a P3 450 @600mhz :) , then the NF7-S and KT7-Raid... right upto my current IP35 Pro, they will be sadly missed... :(

Quite. Me and a mate modded two of them (by shorting and drilling pins in the sockets) to take FCPGA P3's. Was a beast with two 866MHz P3's in it

I was an abit whore from that day, and have only now finally moved away, I miss Abit too :(

but name a better VIA K8T800 Pro/ VT8237 chipset mobo ...
the Asus A8V DeLuxe certainly wasn't.
