Terrible terrible performance from England, it is time now to dump Wells from the coaching setup, his influence is having far to much say in Englands patterns and it's stifling what little talent England can manage to put on the pitch. I wouldn't mind but he was a poor player with no International experience and only failure on his CV as a club level coach

Judging from the game today I think England need to stop kicking the ball back to the opposition as soon as they get their hands on it. England have some really good, powerful runners and they need to use them more often, what was Monye thinking on his two good breaks/chances as well? Once he just aimlessly kicked it down the wing when there was nobody to run onto it and the second time he cut inside away from all of the support.

Tait has looked impressive for England, I'd like to see more of Delon Armitage. Wilkinson hasn't impressed me, he hasn't looked right recently.

Only managed to catch the final 20 minutes or so of the game today but England didn't look all that impressive from what I saw, at the moment it looks like the tournament might be Frances to lose.

I think Wales were rather lucky to have gotten away with that, given their by and large completely flat and uninventive play, not to mention the final phase of play should never have been allowed to take place.

France where immense, all over them.

Italy where unlucky, England where dire.

That was a bit of a slogging match was it not? England only looked dangerous once or twice. Too much kicking to hand, they needed to be kicking into space and chasing up. I really don't see the point of kicking upfield if you aren't going to chase the ball.

I've been banging on about this for a long time. Nothing wrong with kicking the ball as long as it's a) A good kick, and b) there's a good chase.

England achieved neither of these today, and imo very rarely give a good chase apart from the odd chase from Moody and Cueto. Watch Mils Muliaina's kicking and his chasing, he and and usually one or more of his team-mates will 9 times out of 10 be within 5-10 metres of the player catching the ball. Very rarely do England do that.

I've said before that I think England have a problem with fitness, it's either that or a lack of effort which I hope it's not! It's not just in the kick chase though, it's the support of the runners and the speed at which players get to the breakdown. There were several breaks England made today and the player looked for support and it just wasn't there.

Oh well, a win's a win!

Just watched the game on iPlayer cos I woke up too late to catch the start :p

Got to say England were pretty abysmal, although when we did get the chance we put it away nicely. Glad to have Flutey back, he just brings another side to the game that Flood just doesn't have.

Johnny Wilkinson, kicking aside (usually) has been a very average no.10 for years, he makes no breaks, passing / decision making isn't all that, and even his kicking from hand is not that good any more. Really wish Cipriani would sort his life out and become the player we want / need.

I blame Cooper completely for this, same happened in the first wales game, as soon as Cooper gets taken off, things start to happen!

Also, the game didn't "carry on after 80 minutes"

The kick to make it level went over with 15 seconds to spare, the clock is meant to stop when the ball is not in play.

Indeed! There was time left but Scotland strolled back to waste time and to be honest I think the ref was annoyed with them so allowed a final play.

Also, you cannot kick the ball dead from a restart. If Scotland had done that it would have been a scum on the half-way line, and a Wales put-in :p

Poor game with a dramatic ending.. Wales didn't deserve the win.. Scotland deserved to lose it.

Flannery has been cited for his flying hack, everytime I look at it, it looks worse  I really, really hope the chair of the citing hearing panel has the balls to ban him for 12-18 weeks minimum, it's almost as bad as a gouging (which Flannery has been accused of in the past) and resulted in the French winger being unable to continue.

And Andy Powell has been dropped from the Wales squad for nicking a golf buggy - either he or his companion also failed a breath test according to one of the early reports.

Also I rather suspect the Welsh Management meant "decisively" when they said -
we have acted quickly and incisively...
While they have cut him from the squad I would guess that's a coincidence in the phrasing rather than intentional as it isn't a particularly good sentence.

I just have a funny feeling that Flannery will get a fair ban for his kick. Haven't a clue what he was thinking but I think he has been in a spot or two of bother in the past. Must have some temper but still a good player. I'd say Ireland will miss him.

Well at least he put his hands up - it's something. Furthermore, I don't think he intentionally when to injure, but it was a really bad judgement call, and excessive. Furthermore it could have been a broken leg quite easily which would have been devastating.

However, I'm glad that it's being upheld as whether accidental or not, it was dangerous play.
