Is there a side by side with the 800D, looks like a slightly modded version with no hot swap and a different hard drive configuration

Hmm, to me it seems like they've actualy gone back a step from the 800D.

No hot swappable drives?
Though the fan placement on the drives looks to be more effective.

Think they should concentrate on releasing smaller cases now.

From what I have seen/read it's a stripped down 800D. Exactly the same dimensions, just missing some of the features - hot swappable bays, window etc.

Rumour is that pricing will be around $50 less than the 800D, which is currently available for $290 in the US.

I would imagine then that this just might sneak under £200 over here, but not by much unfortunately.

What happened to the smaller case, Corsair should hopefully show something at Cebit or maybe even Computex, if not, it will be a shame as its been nearly a year since we first saw the Corsair 800D

This looks like a better case than the 800D to work with when water cooling due to losing that plastic cover thing where the hot swap circuit boards went. It gives you more room to play with in the case bottom in that area and gives you another metal surface to attache res clamps to etc. If it is dimensionally the same otherwise I will definately be getting this, glad I ummed and aaahed for so long on the 800D now :)

I plan to mount a 120.2 rad on its side in the bottom compartment and so with a non factory windowed side panel you have a choice of which side to put the grill, or put one both sides even to improve air flow. And you get to hide the psu compartment if you want to put your own window in. I think this is my perfect case, starting to drool slightly.

Aye,

As some have said, it is a cut down version of the 800d, supposed to be the same size and such. I prefer my 800d but the hdd cooling looks better on this.

another thing i just noticed,

Beside no window  (didnt notice that!!)

I prefer the lower drive cage layout, sideways instead of in through the front!
