Currently using an Hanns.G 22" but being following all the threads on the benq LED , but the illyama just caught my eye now...Please help me decide, which to go for...
Cheers

Iiyama for me. Wish I'd bought an E2407HD / B2409HD rather than the crappy BenQ G2420HD I have now (had nothing but chew with BenQs and I'm getting my monitor changed for the 3rd time in a week on Monday via their RMA service as they keep sending me faulty & scratched refurbs :( )

I was considering the BenQ LED variety monitors.. After now readin that I think I may just change my mind and go with the £30 more Iyama monitor - HDMI too so not to shabby! :)

I was just about to ask this same question - good thing I did a search heh heh. Im still wondering which one to get actually. Its not easy cuz after rounding up the prices the Iiyama is just £5 more.

I like the BenQs look better though, specially the stand

I've got the iiyama. I got mine just over a week ago now and have not been disappointed. It replaced a 19" Samsung 940BW.

I'll do a quick review here for those of you pondering on the iiyama.

Pros:
  • Produces colours very well.
  • Sharp and clear images.
  • Reproduces black to a very good standard.
  • 2ms response, great for gamers.
  • Screen is lit evenly.

I am using this to build a website for a photographer, whilst having to work on some of the images so colours had to be accurate, this monitor has not let me down. I have not fully tested with many games yet as I don't have time nor money to buy the current crop of games. Did do a Dirt 2, Crysis, and AMD ladybird test using a Radeon 5850 and this monitor performed better than my previous screen and as I expected it to do.

The screen will require a calibration (Windows 7 built in one will do fine) to ensure colours are as they are suppossed to be.

Cons:
  • Viewing angles not great.
  • Cannot raise height of monitor.
  • No HDMI

I did end up purchasing a monitor arm and have removed the supplied stand as it is too low for my desk. The viewing angle is not great but for me it is fine since I am looking head on to the screen almost 90% of the time.
