BC2 BETA... Your thoughts and SCREENSHOTS of it

wow - I was certain I was going to get the 360 version after being disappointed with stutter etc on PC version even though frame rates were high

this new patch ... now smooth as silk ! :)

More maps and game modes might freshen it up for a little while but they aren't going to be worth 25 quid. No, I think I've seen all I need to see to make my mind up on this one.
 
I absolutely adored BF2, but I honestly think this is better. So immersive! If the other maps and game modes are decent I can see myself playing this for a long, long time!
 
I had a crash for the first time right after updating the game executable. I updated to ati 10.2 drivers and notched my vcore up one increment and I've not had another crash. I have a habit of adjusting more than 1 setting at a time whereas if I just changed 1 then I would be 100% certain what fixed it!
 
Pro tips from a noob(me) :D

- Do your team&yourself a favour and spot enemies(Q) for points and great success

-You can repair the Blackhawk with your engineer tool mid flight - you`ll need to find the sweet spot though

-Use your recon ball to detect enemies. You only got two balls so use them wisely

-While dead switch between squads and join whichever is closest to the target/enemy
 
Man I've gone from sheik to geek with this. From 45inf kills and 10 deaths a round to not being able to hit a cows backside with a banjo. It's become a game geared toward the twitch based chaps and that's not my strength.

The sniper is becoming the only class people are going to use. Played tonight on a few servers and there were over 10 snipers on each team, you couldn't use any of the static guns and AT stuff because you were sniped from several at once, upshot is tanks just roll you over.

It got far better toward the end though and I re instated a decent 2:1 KDR by stopping bringing the iron sights up, don't do it, it no longer gives you any aiming / spread advantage and actually means you will die first when against someone who is shooting from the hip. Obviously ranged shots still benifit from iron sights.
 
only one problem I have is for first minute or so I get lots of black squares on screen like I've overclocked too far

but after about a minute they go - and don't come back

any ideas ? only had this since the latest patch

Play as a medic, your weapon accuracy is redundant :)

I reckon when I play as medic I get ~8 kills in an entire game, and most are with a knife :p

Saying that, I've got two kills with the defib paddles :D

Im hoping the retail is better, i was scoring ok before the update, lucky now if im not at the bottom, getting too scared to shoot lol, i know im dead one on one no matter if i empty a clip first:confused:

They badly need to limit snipers, i dunno wtf it is about pc fps games but every noob wants to be a sniper for some reason.

Seems to be a common thing now, i did prefer sniping in the old delta force games, at least in those the sniping was a pretty good representation of the real thing, bullet drop had to be taken into account at long range, and in a squad a good sniper could provide decent long range cover for team mates. The likes of the cod series, i dont even see the point of sniper rifles as the maps are so small.
 
I don't know what EA have done, or what ATI have done, but since the patch and me downloading the 10.2 drivers earlier, I can now play in DX11 on at least medium settings, with no CTD or any carp I was getting beforehand and my FPS has shot up from around 27 to 90! :D
 
I'm also not sure if it's cause they've done something with the mouse acceleration as well, maybe my settings were over sensitive and need a tweak. Deffo not worth using the iron sights though for close stuff, give it a go and see what I mean.

Glad it's not just me thought :) and I should have known it was to good to be true, me be good at a bf game.....

Didn't notice anything different playing tonight with the new patch with system in sig, although I think I noticed only one unregistered hit when doing a little sniping, sometimes used to get quite a few.

Glad to hear C2D users got a boost, the Mrs will be pleased!
 
Just saw some OcUK guys in the other team, our team totally owned their asses, made me feel kinda bad :p I ended up first again thanks to my bradley whoring skills, but managed to crash the Apache after takeoff. Quite embarassing:p I remember BF2 had much stronger opponents, everyone and their dog killed me in that game.
